Our beautiful love story began in the fall of 2024, when we first crossed paths at a Bible study in San Antonio. Paul had recently decided to settle down in San Antonio after several years as a traveling physical therapist, and Ashley had just moved back to be closer to family and start work as an auditor, one of the best decisions we ever made!
Before we met, Ashley had already heard about Paul from a family friend, Maddi Waldow, who encouraged her to invite him to the new young adults group. Not long after, a few friendly conversations led to a Christmas formal invitation and the discovery that Ashley had never tried al pastor or sushi, marking the the start of something truly special.
Just as discovering al pastor led to discovering sushi, so one conversation led to another, and every time we met, we couldn’t wait to see each other again. What began as simple friendship quickly grew into admiration, laughter, and a deep sense of peace and joy that only God could have orchestrated. Finding each other was truly an answer to prayer and a fulfillment of God’s promise in Matthew 6:33.
As the months passed, our bond deepened through shared adventures, purpose, and commitment to following Jesus. Countless small moments made us realize we had found something rare and lasting. On August 23, 2025, Paul took Ashley on a surprise sunset date to Guadalupe River State Park, the same place they had shared one of their most memorable early dates, and asked her to be his wife. She said YES!
The rest is history. We are beyond excited for all that God has in store for us and so grateful for everyone who has been and will continue to be a part of our story!
