Highly recommend checking this out! We have gone many times! Please make reservations ahead of time as tickets are not guaranteed on a first come first serve basis. The tickets for each tour are limited. There are two kinds of tours, one for handicapped or people with mobility issues, and one for people who are capable of a 30 min hike up to the cave entrance and going up and down 500 steps. Both tours are about 2 hours in length!

ONLY 31 MILES FROM THE VENUE!!

We highly recommend checking this out! Historic Virginia City and Nevada City. Tons of history, they have tours and self guided tours. You can also just walk around and explore. Fantastic food at Bobs Place and Montana made ice cream at Virginia City Creamery.

Glacier National Park

West Glacier 299 miles, 4 hrs 40 mins from the venue. Gorgeous drive! YOU NEED A RESERVATION FOR GOING-TO-THE-SUN ROAD WHEN ENTERING FROM WEST GLACIER! Unless before 6am or after 3pm!


East Entrance 298 miles, 4 hrs 40 mins from the venue.
No vehicle reservation needed when entering from the St. Marys Entrance.

Towns To Explore!

Butte

Butte, MT - 25 miles from Whitehall, tons of history here, especially mining history! Take a trolley tour, a walking tour of historic uptown, or visit the Mining Museum to do a guided underground mine tour (book ahead) or a self guided tour of their replica town and original mine headframes!


Bozeman

Bozeman, MT - 55 miles from Whitehall. Lots of great shopping and food! Walk around downtown! 


Helena

Helena, MT - 60 miles from Whitehall. Capital city! Tons of History around here as well! Great food, shopping and recreation!

Recreation

Hiking

There is tons of hiking to do around here! We really enjoy the Milwaukee Railroad hike to the trestle bridger between Whitehall and Butte on Hwy 2! Very easy hike. There are more challenging hikes, and some of any difficulty. We recommend using the All Trails app.

Fishing

There is good fishing around here, mainly rainbow trout and brown trout in the rivers. Great fishing on the Jefferson River just south or Whitehall, and down in Ennis, about 45 minutes south of Whitehall. Great distillery in Ennis as well.
