Although they have known each other since 4th grade, they didn't find their way to each other until Sophomore year at Andover High School. Ashley has always been a social butterfly and was on the varsity cheer team during high school. Nick being more reserved, caught her attention while playing varsity basketball. With similar social circles, their paths began to cross more while hanging out in group settings. It wasn't until October of 2014, when Nick finally texted her "I wasn't really sure if you knew this but I like you". He supported her at her cheer competition in November, where they began telling everyone they were in a "talking stage". They began hanging out more but it wasn't until January 20, 2015 that they officially began dating. They went to 2 homecomings and 2 proms together, continued to support each other from the basketball court, graduated high school together and both attended Kansas State University in the fall of 2017. Ashley joined the Gamma Phi Beta sorority and Nick joined Phi Delta Theta fraternity their first year at K-State. With different majors and being busy with greek life, they stayed strong and grew their relationships together. Ashley's best friends suddenly became Nick's and visa versa. Ashley became sweetheart of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity in 2018. Both held leadership positions during their time in greek life. Ashley found out she was accepted into Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021 and Nick accepted a job in Wichita, KS after graduation. Both graduated from KSU in 2021 and went to their separate cities to pursue their careers. They became each others rocks, support system and became each others home away from home while attempting to be adults post-grad. Through many hardships, laughs and milestones, their love continued to grow. Nick proposed in Manhattan, KS on September 14, 2024 and she said YES!
