Our Wedding

We met in 2014 on an online dating app - Ashley was 18 and attending South Puget Sound Community College while living with her grandma Helen. Joe was 22 and stationed at JBLM in the Army. Our first date was at Olive Garden in April, followed by a showing of Oculus at the movie theater. We spent hours afterward just talking, driving around Olympia in Joe's jeep, getting to know each other. Over the next few months, we split our time between the base with Joe's friends and Matlock with Ashley's family and friends. That August, we flew to Michigan so Ashley could meet Joe's family. Over a decade later, we are finally tying the knot!

Miranda knows me better than most - especially when it comes to knowing when I need a laugh or a reality check (usually both!) She's witty, sentimental, and always helps to bring a little magic to my life through our shared love of Harry Potter and fantasy books. I am grateful to have such a caring sister by my side.

Kaylee is my youngest sister, but don't let that fool you -  she's wise beyond her years, is quick with a comeback, and is not afraid to speak her mind. Little kids gravitate toward her, which is no surprise, as she is one of the most fun people to have around, especially when the music starts. I'm so lucky to have her standing next to me on our big day!

Kendal and I have known each other our whole lives since our dads were close friends. We went to different schools growing up, but our friendship grew close once we both graduated. We even worked at the same job at one point! She's outgoing, spontaneous, and one of the funniest people I know. She is the extroverted yin to my introverted yang, and I couldn't imagine going through one of the most important days of my life without her.

Kenna and I met while working at CSTC (a psychiatric hospital) together. The experience was like a fever dream, but we are grateful for the experience, because otherwise we wouldn't have met! She is the type of friend who sees me fully as a person and enjoys having deep conversations about life, dreaming toward the future. She is sarcastic, hilarious, and one of the smartest people I know.

McKenna Beal

My Best Woman is my sister - the one who has been with me through every chapter, from family trips up north in Michigan, to late nights watching sports. She is the life of the party and the person who makes every moment more fun (and usually more ridiculous). I couldn't imagine getting married without her standing beside me and probably starting the dance floor, too. 

Christina West

Kyle and I go way back. We grew up playing football in the backyard, driving around Detroit, and catching as many Tigers and Red Wings games as we could - sometimes both in the same day. Whether it was messing around on the golf course or just hanging out, sports were always part of the mix. Even though I moved away, we still stayed in touch. It’s great having someone who shared those early memories for a day like this. 

Kyle Urbain

Rudy and I were both stationed at JBLM around the same time, but we didn’t know each other back then. We both ended up settling in Matlock—me from Michigan, him from Texas—after meeting our wives here. One of the first times we hung out, he helped me fix our water tank after we bought our place. We’ve had some solid times since — Vegas for Tayden’s birthday and a few concerts. I’m glad we’ve gotten to know each other and am looking forward to becoming even better friends.

Rudy Gonzales

Kyle’s been around since the beginning of my time in Matlock- one of the first people I hung out with after meeting Ashley. Early on we went wheeling and he got his Bronco stuck - which pretty much set the tone. Since then, we’ve been at all the family get togethers, and he’s someone I know I could call for anything, no questions asked. Being with sisters who are both a little stubborn, we’ve got a built in understanding of what each other’s dealing with.

We have reserved a block of rooms at Little Creek Casino Resort for our out-of-town guests—and for anyone nearby who’d like to turn the celebration into a little getaway! To book, mention our wedding or use the link above. We can increase the block if we book fully, simply inform us if additional rooms are needed. While Alderbrook wasn't available for booking for our wedding weekend, you can still visit the grounds and take in incredible views of the Hood Canal! There is a restaurant on site as well as plenty of beautiful areas to walk amongst the grounds. There is also a wonderful spa!

Take a stroll in downtown Olympia along the boardwalk, or shop small at local businesses in the downtown district. There are many cafes, restaurants, and boutiques to explore. Our favorites include Uptown Grill, The Oyster House, Anthony's Hearthfire, Dancing Goats Coffee, and Compass Rose Boutique! Archibald Sisters is also a fun and quirky stop!
