What happens if it rains?
Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor dark of night, stays this couple from the swift completion of their appointed nuptials.
However, if lives are at stake, we may be forced in a rain delay. Otherwise, play ball!
Where do I park?
You can park anywhere on Palmetto Blvd (don't block driveways). The wedding ceremony will be directly off of Beach access 1A. You can put 126 Palmetto Blvd in your GPS (this is the closest house to beach access 1A). The reception will be directly after the wedding at 121 Palmetto Blvd (across the street from beach access 1A, get your steps in!)
What's the dress code?
Clothing optional. No really, if you want to wear your swimsuit that's ok! But beach casual, shoes optional is preferred. Also, it gets HOT in July (think SPF/moisture wicking!)
Can I take an uber to Edisto?
No, you cannot take a taxi, uber, lyft, aeroplane, or any form of public transportation to the island.
If you are staying in the Charleston area on the night of our wedding, please remember to drink responsibly as the road to the island is long and dark. You will have miles to go before you sleep.
What's our plan?
Tim and I are staying on the island from 6/30/2024 to 7/7/2024. For those wanting to make our wedding week a mini vacation, please refer to the travel page for accommodations. We understand if you cannot stay a week and there are alternatives to week long rentals.
Do you have a registery?
We have been blessed to accumulate a house full of stuffs. We opted for a honeymoon fund in lieu of a gift registry. Although appreciated, please do not buy us gifts. We have provided a link should you choose this option.
How far is Edisto Island from civilization?
About 1 hour outside of Charleston, SC
How HOT does it get at Edisto Beach?
Some say there is a screen door between the surface of the sun and Edisto Beach, SC. With that being said, please remember to hydrate with water and electrolytes in between your other beverages of choice. Sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and SPF clothing are recommended and encouraged. Tim travels with a fan because air conditioning is not enough for him.
What should I expect at Edisto Beach, SC?
Edisto Island is an island south of Charleston, SC. It's a perfect beach for families to vacation in the Palmetto State. It is fairly isolated from shopping and sky scrapers, so if city life is your thing, you may want to venture to Charleston. There is one small grocery store that has your essentials, one gas station, and several local restaurants (no chains, sorry Starbucks lovers). Please refer to the things to do tab for more information and recommendations.
If I start driving to Edisto from Charleston airport and I am on a close to an empty gas tank, what should I do?
Hike up your britches, it's going to be a LONG walk. There is only 1 gas station at the beach and 2 total on the island. Do the responsible thing and fill up your tank before your embark on your journey.
Will I see wildlife?
Although polar bear sightings are rare for this time of year, we cannot rule them out. Mosquitoes have been known to carry off small animals and children. Buy stock in Off Deep Woods before venturing to the island.
Please refer to things to do, if you're interested in viewing reptiles (snakes, turtles, alligators).
