Our Wedding

It was 2018, and in the “tradition” of modern matchmaking, Andrew and Ashley both swiped right at first glance. Yes, that’s right, they met on Bumble. By chance and modern fate, these two humans had left their courting to gut instinct.&nbsp; Shortly after matching, Ashley and Andrew made a plan to meet in New Hope, Pennsylvania on a cold evening in January at the Dubliner on the Delaware. From that moment on, they spent every weekend together, despite living an hour and a half apart. Throughout their courtship, they would go back and forth between Ardmore, PA, and Lawrenceville, NJ. Occasionally visiting the town where they had first met. In the summers, Ashley would visit Andrew in Barnegat Light and by the New Year, they had agreed to take their relationship to the next step by moving in together.&nbsp; In 2019, Ashley and Andrew moved into a cozy 1 bedroom apartment in downtown Lambertville, NJ approximately half a mile from their first date. Andrew proudly changed his ID and license plate to reflect his new Garden State residency (because New Jersey really is better than Pennsylvania) and soon Ashley would join the Barnegat Light Beach Patrol.&nbsp; Following a glorious summer and autumn, a humanitarian disaster soon followed: 2020. Aka COVID. If there was any test for a relationship and someone’s sanity it was this pivotal moment in time.&nbsp; Though tested, through countless games of Uno, Nerf gun wars, and one extreme food fight (involving peanut butter) Andrew and Ashley made it through to the other side. They strengthened their relationship by going on long bike rides together, hiking in the Sourlands and Lehigh Water Gap, and expanding their culinary expertise with the help of a cocktail shaker.&nbsp; In the Fall of 2020, Andrew attended firefighter academy, and in the winter of 2021, Ashley and Andrew enrolled in EMT school as a way to learn valuable skills that they could use to better serve their new community of Lambertville-New Hope. To this day they still volunteer for the Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad and lifeguard in the summer for BLBP.&nbsp;Now they’ve decided to take on the ultimate challenge…MARRIAGE.&nbsp; We hope you’ve enjoyed our story. Summer Semi-formal Attire - We would love to see our family &amp; friends get dressed up for our big day! Ladies: think Summery, Colorful &amp; Floral! Knee-length dresses or longer desired. Gentlemen: should wear a suit &amp; tie or sports coat with dress shoes. Please do not wear white. **Wedding Party Colors: Sage green, Champagne, &amp; Rose Gold**

Will the Ceremony be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony will be outdoors on the Great Lawn. Following the reception will be held indoors in the Colt Room

What time should I arrive?

We recommend arriving at 6:00 PM for the Wedding Ceremony

Are kids welcome?

While we love all of your little ones, this will be an Adults Only celebration! The only exception are those children in our Wedding Party. We hope you take this opportunity to treat our wedding day as a date night or as a night to relax and enjoy! We appreciate you making prior arrangements so you can celebrate with us!

Can I bring a date?

All invited guests will be listed on the formal invitation. if your invitation is addressed to you "and Guest", you are welcome to bring a date otherwise we kindly ask that you attend unaccompanied. Due to limited space at our venue, we can only accommodate our closest family and friends. We thank you for understanding!

Will there be an open bar?

Yes, there will be an open bar.

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Absolutely! We would love for you to share your photos with Friends &amp; Family. At the Reception, there will be a QR Code that you can scan with your smartphone to access the shared album and upload to it. However, at the Ceremony we kindly ask that if you do take videos or photos that it is only during the Wedding Procession and after the Vows have been made. Please make sure your phone is silenced and that it does not impede our photographers from their own. We would like everyone to enjoy this special moment and be present with us.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? 

There are plenty of places to stay in New Hope / Lambertville! Under "Travel" you will find more information on Hotel Blocks, nearby Bed &amp; Breakfasts, and Air BNBs located in town. Please note many of the Bed &amp; Breakfasts do not provide hotel blocks and require individual parties to book. Shuttles are provided to Hotel Du Village for guests that stay at Logan Inn.

Will transportation be provided to/from the hotel?

Please plan to arrange for your own transportation to and from Hotel Du Village. There is free parking available at the venue.

There are access points throughout the town in New Hope (PA) and Lambertville (NJ). Bikes can be rented at Big Bear Gear near the Golden Nugget.

Delaware Canal Towpath

The Lambertville Wing Dam can be accessed heading south on the towpath. This is a special spot for the couple, as it is where Andrew proposed to Ashley. The wing dam is a great place to take in the river city's best view of the nature surrounding it. Many locals picnic or fish off of the wing dam and Big Bear Gear even offers a 2 hour Hiking &amp; Yoga class every Tuesday (6:00 PM) and Saturday (8:00 AM). As the wing dam stretches out to the middle of the river we do caution our guests not to swim off of it and to be aware of the water levels. However since our wedding is in August, we feel confident that you should be able to enjoy it this time of the year. Please note you will need sneakers to climb down from the towpath. If you wish to sign up for Big Bear's Hiking and Yoga class the link is provided below.

Due to Lambertville's zoning requirements, Del-Vi Arcade is considered a private social club. However they do provide free daily passes (called "Atomic Oxygen"). You can find the Arcade south of Bridge Street past World of Wines.

See the spot where General George Washington’s boats quietly took the Revolutionary soldiers to the battles of Trenton and Princeton. Walk among the grounds where his troops waited patiently by the side of the Delaware River, close to several historic houses and work buildings that represent Pennsylvania industry and home life in the 18th and 19th Centuries. The network of trails that lead throughout the forested grounds are great for walking, running and hiking, as well as cycling.

Many famous Princetonians have been able to call the Morven Historic Museum &amp; Garden home; William Penn, Richard Stockton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, Robert Wood Johnson and five New Jersey governors to name a few. With the relocation of the Governor’s Mansion to Drumthwacket in 1982, Morven was converted into the museum it is today.Morven boasts five acres of gardens, a collection of fine and decorative arts and a second floor that serves as a changing exhibit space with new shows opening every few months. Just a short walk from the university, Morven is able to loan from the Boudinot Collection at the Princeton University Art Museum. The garden layout includes a formal lawn dotted with majestic trees, beds of heirloom annuals from the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as a re-creation of the Colonial Revival style garden that was planted at Morven in the early 20th century. Today, Morven is home to many engaging events throughout the year; Plein Air Painting in the gardens, hands on workshops and holiday events such as the Festival of Trees displayed throughout the museum’s galleries.

On January 3, 1777, the peaceful winter fields and woods of Princeton Battlefield were transformed into the site of what is considered to be the fiercest fight of its size during the American Revolution. During this desperate battle, American troops under General George Washington surprised and defeated a force of British Regulars. Coming at the end of "The Ten Crucial Days" which saw the well-known night crossing of the Delaware River and two battles in Trenton, the Battle of Princeton gave Washington his first victory against the British Regulars on the field. The battle extended over a mile away to the College of New Jersey (now Princeton University). The famous Mercer Oak, once stood in the middle of the battlefield, not far from the spot where General Hugh Mercer fell during the Battle of Princeton. <a href="https://pbs1777.org/thomas-clarke-house/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Thomas Clarke House</a>After being wounded in the Battle of Princeton, American General Hugh Mercer was carried to this circa 1772 Quaker dwelling where he died nine days later.&nbsp;The County was named in his honor. The original house is furnished in the manner of the 18th century and features exhibits and displays about the Revolutionary War.&nbsp;
