Welcome to University of Delaware, Class of 2014!

In August 2010, Jimmy and I moved in to the third floor of Dickinson B at the University of Delaware, excited to begin "the best four years" of our lives. We were both ecstatic to be placed in the most luxurious freshmen dorm on campus, sporting no air conditioning and plenty of creepy crawlers to go around.

On that first day, we took part in the obligatory floor ice breaker which happened to be called "Speed Dating." Everyone from the floor stood across from one another in two rows and we had one minute to get to the know the person across from us before shuffling down the line to the next person. It would be romantic to say we fell head over heels in this moment, but to be honest I don't think either of us remembers talking to each other.

During the Fall semester, Jimmy and I became great friends. He was the person on the floor I would turn to when I was homesick or stressed or just wanted someone to talk to, and vice versa. Finally, in January 2011, after one too many adult beverages, I told Jimmy I wanted to be more than friends and he, somewhat reluctantly, agreed.

A month into spring semester, Jimmy finally suggested we go on an official date, so we went to dinner at Cucina Di Napoli on main street in Newark. I don't think either of us had been on an actual dinner date, like ever, so we were pretty nervous. But everything went great...until the motorcycles.

On our walk back to campus, Jimmy began asking me if I wanted to make things official. Of course, as soon as he worked up the courage to ask, a never-ending string of motorcycles drove past us. After what felt like an hour, I could finally hear what he was saying and the answer was: "Yes, I'll be your girlfriend!"

From a Bunch of Breweries to "Will You Marry Me?"

It was October 14, 2018. Jimmy and I, along with Kierstan and Andrew (see bridal party page!), were headed from Vermont to Maine on our Northeast brewery tour vacation. After a quick stop at Taco Bell for lunch, we made our way to one of the few non-beer-related attractions we had on our list of sites to see, Two Lights Lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.

After walking around for a few minutes, Jimmy asked Kierstan to take a picture of the two of us by the water. A few snaps later and Jimmy was down on one knee asking me to marry him. My immediate reaction was "Are you serious?" but then I quickly said "Yes!!!"
