6 years ago on November 16th, 2018, a lonely boy from the bustling town of Boone, Iowa took a drive to the grand city of Des Moines, Iowa to check out the local watering holes. What Joel didn't know that evening, is that he would meet the finest of waiter fish at El Bait Shop that he'd ever seen. A friend even quotes , "Dude are you sure about this, she lives in Des Moines". Well when this waiter girl, first laid eyes on that bearded tattooed man, she knew for a fact that he was the bait she needed and she'd never let go. The two perfect unique fish in the sea met one another finally.

Now, we can forever argue on who "caught" who, but for the sake of the story, we will allow Joel to say it was all him 😉 From this fateful night, Ashlie and Joel took their relationship relatively slowly. Committing themselves to a long distance relationship for the first two years, navigating the still waters of covid. Joel then moved in with Ashlie in late 2020.

As we all know, covid land created a mass turbulence. But together they were able to navigate communication and how love another appropriately. Since then, they have resided in the city of Des Moines, Iowa. There they have begun to build a home together. Between new jobs, selling a bachelor's pad and raising his 11 year old son. Taking care of their furry children Mac (cat) and Lotus (dog) and much much more.

They are super excited to have you join them in their 6 year dating anniversary into their wedding date!
