Ashlyn and Kyle met in 7th grade but pretty much ignored each other for a few years. Ashlyn had a mega-crush on Kyle, but in typical fashion, he was oblivious. Ashlyn even went out of her way to stand in front of him in group photos (check out the blurry photos below for proof!). They ran in the same circles for a few years, but didn't connect until the 11th grade. Although there is some debate as to who made the first move, they started dating in March of 2020. They dated through the rest of high school, spending their time getting Chinese takeout, hiking Frigley's Gap, watching the Marvel, Fast and Furious, and Harry Potter sagas, and stargazing in cow pastures. With Ashlyn at EMU and Kyle at JMU, they got to spend lots of time together. One of their favorite activities was taking walks through Park View. They got engaged in December of 2024 and are excited to spend the rest of their lives together.
