I met Tiffany attending Camp Taylor when we were in middle school. Camp Taylor is a summer camp for children with congenital heart disease. We soon began the camp mentorship program, spending summers together participating in many skits and singing songs as loud as possible at camps for families affected by heart disease. Through the years we have supported each other and grown our friendship. This past October, we celebrated Tiffany and Ricki's wedding in Playa del Carmen.
I befriended Meghan sophomore year at Cal Poly when we both wrote for Her Campus. Her Campus is an online lifestyle magazine for woman in college. We went on to be roommates our junior and senior year of college. In true college fashion, we also went on a 3 week trip to Costa Rica to volunteer with a turtle conservation program. As we both live in the Sacramento area, we continue to hang out together, usually joined by Meghan's goodest dog, Paloma.
Em and I met our freshman year of college through mutual friends. We both studied English and spent many nights lamenting about our required readings and playing Wii games. After graduation, we were lucky enough to travel through London and Edinburgh together! Now, we spend our time lamenting about teaching and sharing pictures of our cats.
Andrew and Collette's families have been friends for years, while Andrew and Collette attended middle and high school together. I was lucky to meet Collette in 2020 after she graduated from college and moved back to the Sacramento area. I have since stolen her from Andrew and made her my friend! These days you'll find her and I on the phone for hours or thrifting for things we don't need.
Sophie and Theo are the children of Ashlyn's cousin Shelley and her husband Clayton. Shelley was a junior bridesmaid at Ashlyn's parents' wedding, and we are honored to carry on that tradition. Though he is the ring bearer, Theo is also hoping he'll be our DJ! Get ready to party!
Quinn and Myer are the daughters of Ashlyn's cousin Julie and her husband Curtis. Julie was the flower girl at Ashlyn's parents' wedding, and we are so excited that her daughters will now share this role! We know they'll do a wonderful job!
Scott is my brother and best friend. During our adulthood, we have become extremely close and spend a lot of time together every week. We were even roommates for a time while I was in grad school. I don't think anyone who knows us is surprised that he is my Best Man!
Sven and I met as freshmen at Cal Poly. We were randomly matched together as roommates in the dorms, and what a great match that was! We remained roommates my whole time at Cal Poly and, with Jon, even went on an incredible post-graduation trip to Japan! We are still close friends, despite living in different cities now.
Jon and I met our freshman year at Cal Poly. Jon lived just a few doors down the hallway of Trinity dorm. We share a ton of interests so naturally we quickly became friends and even lived together (with Sven) until graduation. Jon recently moved to Sacramento so I've enjoyed the opportunity to spend more time together lately.
Alex is one of my oldest friends, as we've been close buddies since middle school. We spent so much time together, along with Grant and Max, throughout high school and have carried that relationship into adulthood. Alex and I even lived together for a year while I was attending my graduate program. I remember that year very fondly! Nowadays, you'll probably find us enjoying an ice-cold Coors Light at a Kings game.
I've known Max since elementary school, but we really forged our relationship during high school. We shared many classes and spent every lunch period together, where we exchanged endless jokes and laughs. Despite a 5-hour drive, we made it a priority to see each other at least once per semester in college, as we enjoyed weekends in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara. We continue our relationship today attending Pub Trivia nearly every week, along with Jon and Alex!
I met Grant in Mrs. Clark's 7th grade history class and we have been close friends ever since. Grant went to college at UC Santa Barbara, just a short drive from Cal Poly, and I would visit him often. Grant and I formed a lot of great memories together, not all of which are totally memorable...
Grant recently moved to France and we talk often despite the distance.
