What started as a "blind date" resulted in an impromptu meet-up in downtown Raleigh after talking a few times. After that night, we stayed in touch and started realizing that this "thing" we had was more serious than timing would agree with at the time. Ashton was a practicing Dentist in Greenville, while Dalton was living in Raleigh, so it was a distanced relationship with weekend travel being the bulk of our time together.

The second chapter of our relationship put us to the test, with Ashton having a severe skiing accident in Wintergreen, resulting with her being in a wheelchair and having to really make some life changes! During this time of recovery, Ashton started looking into the job market in the Raleigh area, while in the meantime going through surgeries, moving out of her apartment in Greenville, and spending time between her mom's house in Belhaven and Raleigh. We were burning up the road for those long months, spending what time we could together, and being able to really think through her future and what we want in a future together.

After prayer and working hard to figure out what's next, The Lord blessed us with Ashton joining Harrison Pointe Dentistry where she was established as the only practicing Doctor - complete with her beautiful face on the front!

We finalized our living situation as things continue to get more serious, and little did Ashton know, but Dalton was already thinking about forever with her. As time and luck would have it, we were able to secure a new house the day before the planned proposal.

What resulted was a beautiful proposal in our new home, with our friends Justin and Victoria helping create the moment with their musical talents. She said yes, and we began starting our new life together!

God puts people in our lives for a reason, and the WHEN and HOW sometimes doesn't make sense to us. But the good Lord laid a path for us to grow together, heal individually and ensure that our future was one filled with hope, love and dedication to each other.
