It was a crisp January morning when I, Ashtyn, came to the realization I was absolutely and overwhelmingly scared of dating. What does one do when they are scared of dating you might ask? Make a hinge profile. So I did. It was time to go on dates and put myself out there. I went on a few and came back underwhelmed but hopeful because I was lucky to have met some very kind people and obtain some hilarious stories. After a week or two, the app was exhausting, and I hated it, but I came across a guy with a tacky joke on his profile (that I apparently didnt understand) and it made me laugh. I commented and he replied back and here we are getting married. We went on a date to ML Rose and I had tactically planned dinner before I had an event at church so I could run out if I needed to. Although, I didnt need to, and I honeslty didnt want to and then to my suprise he invited himself to attend my church event, which was week 3 of a 10 week course called Alpha (which you should look into if you are figuring out what faith looks like for you). If he hadnt done so I will attest that we would not be here today because I was terrified of letting anyone close and he signed up to see me for the next 7 weeks every Monday. I will forever be greatful for his curiousity and boldness to ask if I would be comfortable with him attending this event with me and for the Lord who perfectly designed our love story. Over the next several weeks, he became my favorite person to talk to about anything. Jesse is incredibly thoughtful and loves a good debate and he genuinely cared about every single one of my longlisted opinions, whether he agreed with them or not. After a few months of getting to know each other and me still being hesitant about all of the things that could go wrong, Jesse loosly asked me to be his girlfriend, to which I said I was not ready for, until one week later when sweet Georgia Rose (Jesses niece (and now my niece)) asked me if I was his girlfriend and I said yes. Jes and I grew together and grew in our understanding of the gospel and the grace of God over the months seperately and together with our community group. In the most natural way, our lives just made sense together. Jesse proposed a few days after Christmas at the Botanical gardens in Oklahoma City, to which I have been told I answered with ‘of course’. Fast foward to now, where we get to promise to love each other for the rest of our days in front of our favorite people. Thank you so much for how you have impacted our lives and will continue to impact our family. We love you all.

Natalie has been my best friend since freshman year of college.  She has been present for many of my most cherished memories and I am forever thankful for the bonus sister God gave me in her. She’s the sweetest soul, the most fun to be around, and the fiercest person I know.

Randi Lee has been my biggest fan (and I her) since my sophmore year of college. College PLC sparked a beautiful friendship that helped me dive deeper into my faith and the weatherford community. I will forever be greatful for the impact Ran has made on my life. (Also, her baby is the cutest)
