Souls don’t meet by accident–Anonymous

The story of how Asia and Quentin met demonstrates how timing really IS key.

In late Summer 2022, they were both single and looking for someone with whom to start a life. Asia and Quentin were on Bumble (an app in which women are the ones to make the first move). After months of Bumble swiping, neither had found what they were looking for.

It wasn’t until Quentin found the profile of the most beautiful girl with enormous dimples. Quentin did the one thing he shouldn’t do: overthink and close the app. Concerned that the profile of the deep-dimpled girl might be fake, Quentin decided to wait.

Quentin usually spent his summers working at a local bank once he was finished teaching for the year. This particular July morning, most of his bank coworkers were having an early meeting, leaving him to open the drive-thru window. This is where waiting paid off…sort of.

The first customer in the drive-thru was someone he recognized, but he couldn’t remember from where. Upon taking the transaction and recognizing her name, he quickly realized it was the deep-dimpled girl from Bumble; she wasn’t fake.

Quentin quickly finished the transaction, gave her a receipt, and told her to “have a great day!” because he couldn’t make a move at the window. After Asia sped away to make it to work on time, Quentin made the decision: the next time he saw her profile, he was ‘swiping right’. That afternoon, Quentin did just that.

Meanwhile, Asia saw the bumble profile of a cute guy in a bow tie, and immediately swiped right.

It was a match!

Because of Bumble’s design, Asia got the conversation started.

“Hey, Hey! Happy Sunday!”

Simultaneously, Asia, being the overly investigative person she is, also began her background check. Quentin shared that he worked at Tates Creek High School as an English teacher. Asia texted her sorority sister, who worked for the same school district as Quentin, to see if she knew who he was. The sorority sister didn’t know Quentin but was great friends with his then Principal.

After a seal of approval from Quentin’s Principal and two weeks of conversation, Asia and Quentin went on their first date to Sutton’s.

Their relationship was worth the wait.
