Our Story

Out Of No Where

Astel and Heidy met through mutual friends back when they were only 19. Although at that time, they didn’t know that this new friendship would lead to meeting the person they would be with forever.

Back To The Beginning

Astel had his heart set on Heidy from the moment he saw her. He knew she was someone special and even though she only wanted to be friends he would be with her whenever she needed him. After some time, he saw his opportunity to ask for her number at a Fall Festival. Heidy didn’t think much of it and gave it to him meanwhile our friend knew exactly what he was up to. Looking back, Heidy couldn’t believe how easily she gave him her number.
Heidy thought Astel would just be a forever friend. As time went on she grew closer to him and found herself confiding in him. Heidy knew she could count on him and that her view of him was changing.

A Bumpy Start

It was then that Astel tried to spend more time with Heidy and offer to teach her how to drive. She may have stolen the car once and maybe even hit a curb or two but he was just happy to be spending time with her. At least that’s what he told her but he was really just worried about his car.

A Secret In The Making

As Heidy was spending more time with Astel, she slowly started falling for him. Of course, Heidy being Heidy she was too shy to tell her parents. Maybe they already knew but she officially told them 6 months later… or maybe it was 8 months

What’s Going On?

Fast forward to two 27 year olds, Heidy didn’t know it yet but Astel was planning a trip that would be the beginning of their new chapter. While on an Alaskan Cruise, they had a lot of fun walking the streets of Seattle, kayaking in glacial waters with seals around them, they had one more stop in British Colombia where Astel had planned for them to go to a Botanical Gardens. That morning Heidy had found Astel to be quite annoying trying to tell her what to wear. Little did she know she should have listened…

The Proposal

When they finally arrived at the Botanical Gardens, Heidy couldn’t help but notice a woman with a really cute coat as they were heading to the Japanese area of the Gardens. They finally got to a nice open area that wasn’t so crowded where Astel was about to get down on one knee and Heidy, not looking behind her, she ran across to a bridge. Astel then realized he had to move quickly across the bridge before she turned around. He had surprised her with an engagement ring! It happened to be that the lady with the cute coat had been able to capture the moment perfectly.

Here we are a couple years later, and finally getting to share our day with our loved ones. Thank you for being in our lives and we can’t wait to see everyone!
