Food, Drink & Fun

Restaurants in Yerevan

Armenian food & drink scene is as vibrant as the country itself. We have singled out a few places where we love to hang out and enjoy the delicious food.

Baguette & Co - breakfast spot in the city center of Yerevan.

Brioche - cute small cafe, good for breakfast or a coffee break.

Dalan Cafe and Gallery - our favorite choice for traditional food (lunch and dinner) or a bottle of local wine.

Machar Restaurant - our new favorite spot for traditional Armenian, Artsakh and European cuisines.

Tun Lahmajo - a casual spot for Armenian, Georgian and Middle Eastern dishes.

Collective - another favorite spot for traditional and European food. The place is a little pricey for Yerevan, but the food is good, and many tourists hang out here.

Malocco Cafe Cascade - cute spot offering both traditional and European food options for late breakfast, lunch and dinner.

T Philosophy (aka Food Industry) - our favorite spot for coffee and pastries baked fresh every day.

Bars in Yerevan

Armenians love drinking wine and cognac. Local brands produce high quality wine in the regions like Vayots Dzor, where the most popular grape "Areni" grows in abundance. Pomegranate wine is also very popular: it has a lighter taste and is easy to drink on its own, with no food pairing.

Unlike the USA, you can buy wine and other types of alcohol in most supermarkets. The drinking age is 18.

Our favorite local wines are Koor Dry Red and Alexandrea Areni, our favorite local beer is Kilikia.

Here are a few locally famous places you can check out:

In Vino - the most popular wine bar in Yerevan. It is located on Saryan street, where annual wine festival takes place.

Tapastan - another wine bar on Saryan street, which offers small bites and light meals as well.

Minas Cocktail Room - locally popular cocktail bar with Minas painting themed decor.

Beer Academy and Dargett Craft Beer - places for locally brewed and international beer.

Live Music & Clubs

Music scene in Yerevan is rich and offers a variety of traditional folk, rock, pop, jazz and other genres. Here are some spots to check out if you are a music enthusiast:

Ulikhanyan Club - one of the first jazz clubs in Yerevan.

The Club - restaurant with live music.
