Our Wedding

Despite its successful sports teams and outstanding academic programs, The Ohio State University's actual high honor comes from uniting Aubrey and Andy in December of 2012. Mutual friends organized a trip to West Virginia to spend a weekend in a cabin, affectionately dubbed 'Cabin Fever'. After this weekend in the woods, the two knew they wanted to see each other again. Fast forward to the first date. Scene: Blue Danube. Plate: Large lump of spaghetti. Don't worry, Andy wouldn't let her live down the fact that she ordered such a sloppy dish on a first date. Despite this initial meal- ordering faux pas, Andy and Aubrey stuck it out together all through the college years. Post-graduation, Aubrey moved back to Cincinnati to work for PwC, and Andy headed to Indianapolis to work for Eaton. A year and a half of playing the long distance game, the two decided that being together in Cincinnati was their priority. Aubrey and Andy thank God for bringing them together, and also for providing them a home in such close proximity to all their favorite breweries.

How We Met

September 24, 2016: Where it all started. Andy's scheme started by suggesting a hike at nearby Ault Park. He packed up a picnic and they set off. Casual day date, right? Nope! An unsuspecting Aubrey didn't realize this was "the moment" until the hug right before his proposal speech. He popped the question, and then popped a bottle of champagne (discreetly hidden in his backpack). And just like that: Engaged!

The proposal

-Before the proposal, Andy tried to buzz his own head to make a clean and polished presentation, and ended up missing a huge spot on the back of his head. Smooth move. -The initial proposal location was California Woods, but when they arrived, the entire park was shut down for hunting season. Andy kept his cool, and quickly reverted his plan to Ault Park!

Fun Facts

Aubrey and Andy are going to Southern Spain! ¡Olé!They will be spending 5 days along Costa del Sol, soaking up the sun and relaxing in the sand. Next stop after that is Granada, Córdoba and Sevilla.The two are hoping to relax on the beach, tour wine and olive country, see beautiful cathedrals, and possibly some bull fighting!Ándale Angela &amp; Andrés!

Embassy Suites by Hilton Cincinnati Northeast Blue Ash

Parking can be found in several places around campus. Option 1 is visitor parking next to Cintas Center. Option 2 is University Drive, which can be accessed off Dana Ave. It is located behind several Xavier University campus buildings, and runs parallel to Victory Parkway. Putting "University Drive, Cincinnati OH" into Google Maps should take you where you need to be. There is a small guardhouse at the entrance to this drive. After you have parked, go up one of the many sets of stairs towards campus and the chapel. Option 3 is for the bridal party and those with accessibility needs only, located in the roundabout directly in front of Bellarmine Chapel.
