Where can we stay?
We do not have a room block for the wedding. However, there are tons of hotels and air bnbs in the area!
The Asbury is a very popular hotel that is within walking distance of the venue. Book as far in advance as possible as it does fill up. If you go on their website there are many ways to get discounts on rooms. A few other hotels that are in walking distance include Berkeley Oceanfront and The Empress Hotel. There are links to all three of these hotels under the "Travel" section of this website.
Are kids invited?
While we adore your children, we ask that this be an adults only reception. We want everyone to be able to relax and enjoy the celebration. If you'd like them to attend the ceremony and arrange for them to be picked up before cocktail hour, we welcome that!
What's for dinner?
During the cocktail hour, there will be passed appetizers. For dinner, we’ll be serving seasonal plates from the Porta menu, featuring Neapolitan pizzas, pastas, and modern takes on traditional Italian dishes. The venue can accommodate allergies, but please let us know in advance. Vegetarian options will also be available.
How will dinner be served?
Dinner will be served 'cocktail style,' meaning food will be available throughout the evening, and seating is not assigned. To maximize space for dancing and mingling, there won’t be seating for everyone to eat at the same time. There will be plenty of seating for guests who prefer or need to sit for most of the evening. However, if you’re able, we encourage you to wear comfortable shoes, enjoy one of the high-top tables (or, weather permitting, outdoor seating), and spend the night mingling—and most importantly, dancing!
What to wear?
The dress code is formal, but most importantly, we want everyone to feel comfortable and happy. While we encourage you to dress up, we truly don’t mind what you wear. The ceremony and reception will be held indoors. The venue is just a block from the beach, so please be prepared for wind and cooler weather than you might expect!
Parking
There is no designated parking at Porta, so if you're staying nearby, we highly recommend using Uber.
Parking options include:
Asbury Park Parking (First Ave Lot/LAZ Parking) – 110 1st Ave, Asbury Park
LAZ Parking – 1101 Ocean Ave, Asbury Park
Is Porta handicap accessible?

Gifts
We are so excited to have you join our special day and your presence at our wedding is the best gift we could ask for! We’re lucky to have everything we need for our home, so if you’d like to give a gift, we kindly request a monetary gift towards our house downpayment or honeymoon fund. We have set up a cash fund for both at https://www.theknot.com/us/aubrey-byrne-and-robert-mangel-mar-2025-eeb80be2-1a32-4159-ad6a-abfed02f7412/registry or a card box will be available at the reception.
