Our Wedding

Barrett and I went to school together since the seventh grade. It wasnt until our junior year that we decided to give each other a chance! We went to our junior prom together as just friends but I spent that following summer chasing him from baseball field to baseball field. June 4th, 2021, at a baseball tournament (of course), he asked me to be his girlfriend! There was not much excitement to it except for those five words and a milkshake. We spent our whole senior year together!

After graduation, Barrett went to flight school in Olive Branch while I went to Mississippi Delta on a softball scholarship. Distance was hard but we made it work! May of 2023, I hung up my cleats for the very last time. I moved back home that summer and went to Holmes Community College to finish my prerequisites. In October, Barrett graduated from flight school and in November, he started his first job as a flight instructor at Delta State University. In December of 2023, I graduated from Holmes with my AA and in January of 2024, I started my Elementary Education pathway at Delta State. After a year and a half of distance, we finally were in the same town again.

College 

On July 28, 2023, what started out as family portraits for my mom’s birthday ended as a surprise proposal. At the time, Barrett was already considered family so him being in the pictures was nothing strange to me. After we had taken pictures in one location, we moved to our next, we detoured past a very well decorated spot. We got out and started towards it where he asked me to marry him. Afterwards, we went back to celebrate with all of our family. It was such a perfect day!
