Lexie and I have known each other since pre-school. However, we did not become close until senior year of high school when we realized we both got to school wicked early and had time to sit at each other’s lockers in the downstairs of Lyman and chat away until the bell rang. Lexie and I became even closer throughout the later years of high school when we decided to take a couple late night adventures (that shall not be named) and in college as we shared the trials and tribulations of occupational therapy school. Lexie is someone who will always give you a smile, loves all things organization, and will forever be there for you no matter the distance or time apart.
Oh Amanda - one of my sistas! There is a large age gap between us, but it feels as though we are the closest we have ever been. Ever since I was younger, Amanda always was the one to look up to, to give sound advice, and the one who always protected me from the world. Amanda will always give you her A-game, most honest opinion, knows when to have fun and has been a role model since day one. She is a sister that has turned into a friend and I am lucky to have her in my life.
Sista, sista & Virginia neighbor! Ashlee and I have grown closer in the past couple of years since I have moved down to VA. Ashlee is someone who brings out the best in others, is truthful in every part of her life, and will forever be the sister I share in my Virginia life. Although I will always remember she was the one who tied me to a chair and pushed me down to the ground and ran away, she will also always be the one I turn to in need of a laugh and someone who has taught me more than she will ever know.
Lauren and I met at Springfield. And as the saying goes, “it’s a small world and it gets smaller each day” which reigned true with Lauren & I. We grew up just minutes of each other, but it took us going to college together to realize all the connections we had back home. Amongst laughs, late college nights & pizza runs; Lauren and I share a true friendship with a bond that will never be broken. Lauren is someone I can always turn to for honest advice that I need to hear, not just what I want to hear. She is a friend that has turned into family, and that is how it will always be.
My girl MADDIE! It is not often you get to grow up so close with your cousins, but lucky for us, WE DID! Madeleine and I had the pleasure of going through elementary, middle, and high school together, being only 1 year apart; a true blessing. I guess this is what has made us so close over the years, as she was around in school sports, the school hallways and everything in between; always being someone I could look up to. She is a cousin that has turned into a friend, someone who will always be there in good and bad times, and who will stick by my side through everything.
Baby cousin LIV! Olivia lives in Virginia, but before you say “oh that’s great, you’re so close…” Virginia is BIG, and she lives about 4 hours away. She is my younger cousin, but over the past year or so I have realized how much she has taught me. Besides teaching her pop, lock & drop it at a young age on my aunt’s 3rd floor (sorry Auntie) …Olivia has taught me how to have an open heart and to find the good in every situation. She is someone who you can always count on to be creative, have a laugh and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Paige is my future sister-in-law. Although I have not known her very long, and I know I have much more to learn; I consider her a friend to always count on in life. From my time knowing her, Paige has become a mother. Although it was a challenging start to her daughter’s life; she has truly handled it with grace and passion and has been the best mother she can be. Paige is also a nurse; and she has the most compassion, admiration and integrity for her career which is something I look up to. I cannot wait to create new memories with Paige as we become sisters over the years.
Featured are Riley Nagel (Best Man), Gabe Gemberling, Nick Digeronimo, and Corbin Walnsch. We all attended The Ohio State University and got a degree in Construction Systems Management, hence the name CSM Boys. I met each one of these guys in the fall semester of 2016, and we all quickly became friends. We've always had a good time together whether it was tailgating for a Buckeyes game, at Riley's lake house, or doing group projects in the computer lab (we actually did school work sometimes). Since that time we have all graduated and moved away to pursue our careers in construction, but it never fails that we all gather every fall for Pumpkin Festival (really we just party in my parents garage). I'm grateful these guys get to stand beside me on Aubrey & I's big day. Go Bucks!!
Zach and I were freshman roommates at WVU, for those of you who don't know I went to WVU for 1 year before transferring to Ohio State. Zach and I were randomly selected roommates and had never met until move-in day, but we became quick friends. After I left WVU Zach and I kept in touch, and even being a few hours away, we'd meet up a couple times each year for some beers and to catch up. Zach moved out to Maryland to begin his construction career in 2018. Right before my graduation Zach called me and asked if I would like to interview with the VP at his company. Shortly after, that VP offered me a position and I packed up my truck and moved to Maryland. Almost 4 years later and we still work together. As we like to say, "you can't make old friends".
David is one of my oldest friends. We grew up in a small town where everybody knows everybody and we were no exception. We met at daycare when we were around 4 years old and we've been friends ever since. Even after I moved away from my hometown, and regardless of our busy lives, David and I always kept in touch. I was lucky enough to stand with David on his wedding day, and I'm glad he will be standing with me on mine.
Ole Kurt! Kurtis is married to my sister Paige, and the father to my niece Teddy. I've known Kurt for years, but I didn't really get to know him until he started dating Paige, and I can tell you I have never seen my sister as happy as when she is with Kurt. Kurt is one of those guys that'll do anything for you, no questions asked. We love to have a good time and I'm happy he will be celebrating with us!
