It was the middle of March 2018 when Aubrey and Kyle matched on Bumble (online dating app). Aubrey was driving back from Arizona thru Stockton when she matched with Kyle. Aubrey knows exactly where she was on the highway when it happened. They had an instant connection and knew they had found their soulmate.
On March 31 they had their first date and Aubrey just happened to be 40 minutes late. Aubrey was working nights at the time and she checked the GPS at 3 in the morning not considering there would be traffic at 4 P.M on a Thursday. The waiter made sure he snitched on Kyle about having a few beers while he waited for Aubrey. Let’s just say they had the best last first date! They had dinner at Oz Korean BBQ, which is now their favorite date night spot. After dinner they went bowling and saw a movie. Kyle fell asleep on Aubrey's shoulder but if you ask him he’d tell you Aubrey was the one who fell asleep. When they went to say their goodbyes Aubrey made sure to ask when she'd see him next because she wasn’t letting this one get away. Kyle invited Aubrey to a family friends birthday party that Saturday which meant Aubrey was meeting his parents on their second date!
Come Saturday Aubrey had purchased a new shirt because that’s what us girls do, Aubrey had on black pants and converse. She remembers sitting in her car in the hotel parking lot waiting oh so very nervous calling her mother hoping she’d calm her down. Of course she didn’t answer and Kyle and his parents had showed up before she called her back. She believes when he saw her this was the moment he knew he wanted to spend forever with her. My new shirt and converse paid off lol. His parents were so sweet and We’ve been drinking buddies ever since. I spent the weekend with them and by 4 A.M Monday morning April 2, Kyle had asked her to be his girlfriend.
By May he had told her he loved her and In July they moved in together. They moved fast but knew they wanted to spend forever together. In the first 6 months of their relationship they had gone thru more than most couples do in 10 years and they believe their timing of meeting each was perfect so they had each other to lean on during some of the most difficult times of their lives. On December 25, Kyle had planned to propose. To be honest Aubrey hoped he would do it on Christmas but she didn’t want to get her hopes up so she tried not to put too much thought into it. He had one last present at her parents house, and it just happened to be her grandmothers wedding ring. He got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife for the rest of their lives. By far the easiest YES!
In May they moved out of the house they were living in with 3 other people, because it was time to be on their own. They got a 2 bedroom Apartment for about 6 months before they made the decision to buy a house which turned into buying a duplex. Let me tell you, you want to see if you really want to marry someone remodel not one but two homes. It’s not like Chip and Joanna, not in the slightest. It’s a whole lot of blood, sweat, and tears but they made it and have turned their little house into a home, and they would not have wanted to do that with anyone else.
Over the last 2 years they have built a love strong enough to get thru anything life throws at them and we could not be more excited to have all of you celebrate with us on October 10. It’s a day we've dreamed about our whole lives. We are lucky enough to say we are marrying our best friend! Can’t wait to see you all! Thanks for reading!
