Our Story

How did we meet? Online

First Date? Decker's

Second Date? Bow Fishing

Sounds crazy, right??? Tim was asking for the next date before we were finished with the current date. That being said, I never had a chance to say no, and I'm glad I didn't. The rest is history!

You're probably wondering why we got married when we did... Who gets married on a Monday? Wasn't it a little fast? Why weren't we invited?

Well, here's the story...

My mom has terminal cancer and is not doing well. The only thing she has asked of me was to see me get married. She has been saying this years before I even met Tim. Her ringtone for me was Michael Buble's "Haven't Met You Yet" for waaaaay too long. When I met Tim she had already been fighting breast cancer for 2 years and it just kept spreading. Spring forward to January 2017, we got the news that the cancer was now in my mom's brain. My first thought was, my mom will never see me get married. So, I went wedding dress shopping and bought the 3rd dress I tried on (even before the ring, lol). Knowing that a wedding wasn't financially feasible at the time, I started researching places to have a photo shoot as if I were getting ready for my wedding, so I would at least have those pictures with my mom and sisters.

Long story short, a friend at work was walking by when I was talking about trying to find a place for the pictures and the reason why I wanted them. It turns out her cousin manages the property at The Barn at Oak Manor and owns her own wedding planning business (Ashley Cudsik from Flower Child Weddings). After a conversation with Ashley, the picture day was being planned hair, makeup, photographer, videographer, florist, and brunch (FREE OF CHARGE, WHAT???). After a little more planning, Ashley asked if we wanted a family ceremony that day as well. We jumped at the opportunity.

While we are incredibly blessed and grateful for this opportunity, it was hard not having all of our family and friends there, but know there will be a HUGE celebration next year for everyone to attend. We can't wait to see your smiling faces then!
