Q + A

What should I wear and does Beach Formal Mean?

Wedding attire for a beach wedding is commonly assumed to be dressy casual—and while this might be true for many weddings, others may be more formal. In general, though, beach wedding attire for men and women is heavily influenced by the setting. When planning out your outfit, look to popular beach wedding colors and patterns to get inspired. Think: pastels, neons, florals and other botanical prints. The most common beach wedding outfits for men include a button-down shirt, slacks or chinos and a suit jacket or blazer if it's a formal ceremony. Flowy maxis and midis are common beach wedding guest dresses for women, but jumpsuits and dressy separates are also appropriate choices. When it comes to accessories, feel free to have some fun. A beach wedding is a great opportunity to wear a patterned tie or colorful statement earrings. It's also perfectly acceptable to pack nice sunglasses or a dressy hat for an outdoor ceremony or reception.

Can I bring my kids?

Unfortunately Secrets St. James is an adults only resort. There are no children allowed on resort property. There are multiple other family-friendly resorts with less than a 1 hour travel time that may provide childcare. Including: - Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall - Dreams Rose Hall Resort & Spa - Jewel Grande Montego Bay

Can I bring a plus one?

Most likely yes! Just let the bride and groom know!

Will there be an after party?

At the resort, there is a club for guests who want to get their groove on after the event!

Is it an open bar?

Hell yeah!

What weather should I expect?

Expect sunny skies and maybe some light rain. Be prepared for a warm sunset wedding on the beach. If rain occurs, there is an indoor backup venue.
