Summer 2014: The story begins at a magical place called Noah's Ark, a rafting and adventure company in Buena Vista, CO. In the summer of 2014 Audrey worked in the kitchen at Noah's with Kyle's sister, Jazmyn. Kyle had been guiding at Noahs for many summers and in 2014 was at Noahs for several weeks. Kyle and Audrey didn't interact much, but they developed a high degree of respect for each other. Audrey had a secret crush on Kyle, and after the summer she messaged him with an encouraging word. Kyle appreciated the message and did reply, but there was no more follow up contact.
October 2015: Audrey and Kyle briefly saw each other at a wedding, the first time since their summer at Noahs.
January 2016: Kyle was in Aruba with his parents for a week. At this point he was a 4th year medical student and was about to match and move across the country for residency. He had given up on dating until he moved. However, as he was sitting on the beach, a thought hit him out of nowhere-- "Why not date Audrey Craven?" He sat on the thought the rest of the week, and then he messaged her. She replied, and this time the conversation continued. They messaged for a couple weeks, then began calling each other. That lasted a couple months, then Kyle flew to Memphis for a weekend in April of 2016 for their first set of dates. Things went great, and trips to see each other became the norm from then on out.
Long distance dating last year had a lot of highs and lows. We would meet each other for weekends in all sorts of places, including Colorado, Memphis, Michigan, Louisville, Cancun, St Louis, etc. It's been a blast trying to involve as many of our friends and family in the process as possible, though the distance has obviously made that difficult at times. Our relationship flourished at times and struggled at others, but it has been such a blast to fall in love and choose to love each other through it all.
In February of 2017, Kyle proposed to Audrey at Copper mountain. It was an unbelievable weekend filled with love, family, and friends. It was Kyle's first time saying the "love" word to anyone, and now he just can't stop saying it to Audrey!!
We are so incredibly excited to enter the covenant of marriage together, with Christ as our cornerstone and center. He deserves all the praise and honor, and Audrey and I are ecstatic to continue in this life with our eyes fixated on Jesus, marching forwards towards Him hand-in-hand.
Thank you all for your help throughout this journey. We can't wait to marry each other!!!!!
