Our story began in 2017 at Betances STEM Magnet School. Audrey was a first year Social Studies teacher, and R.C. had been teaching music there for a few years. While they had only known each other in passing, a broken smartboard was the spark that began it all. Audrey was running her morning circle with her homeroom students when R.C. (known as Mr. Roberts to her at that time) came in to conveniently offer to try and fix her board. While Audrey thought nothing of it at the time, it would later spark a friendship that began at the staff Christmas party where Audrey and R.C. would go on to talk for hours and soon go on their first date. Six years, a cat, a dog, and a lot of Legos later, R.C. and Audrey found their best friend in one another. R.C., with the help of our BSTEM family, proposed to Audrey at the end of field day, and of course, Audrey said YES!
