Our story
I’m a skeptic when it comes to anything online. Especially when it comes to online dating, but thankfully this shenanigan turned out to be God given.
We met in an orthodox singles group online. To be quite honest I never really responded to any messages I got from the group. But. One day I saw a cutie pie that had an adorable cat reintroduce himself. I had been praying for a life long partner and so after years of being dormant in the group I decided send the handsome auditor a silly message. (It wasn’t silly I was just saying hi)
We bonded over plenty and held back nothing. After a good while of messages and FaceTimes we decided to coordinate an in person meeting. We had been long distance dating for a while so it was an interesting adventure meeting your boyfriend for the first time.
It was nerve wracking. The only thing I had to go by was what my little square screen could show me (be it I loved my little screen man) there were a lot of feelings I had to work through. I had to have faith.
Faith in God that he would provide a perfect match for me.
Patience and a plane ticket brought us to our first meeting. We somehow ended up flip flopped in the airport. Me on the inside and him waiting outside.
It was so silly seeing him for the first time looking for me anxiously. I knew in that moment that he was real. God is good. He brought him to me and now the rest will work itself out.
A few days felt like a lifetime together. (In the best way) But we had to say goodbye. And then it felt like it had all gone by too soon. We sobbed and laughed wished each other farewell as if we weren’t going to call each other as soon as he landed.
We knew from then on that we couldn’t be apart.
A couple months pass and I go up to visit. I got to meet his wonderful family and church family. I made memories I will cherish for a lifetime.
We already knew we couldn’t be apart but this trip solidified it.
After months of planning and teasing it was his turn to come back down.
I was terribly sick and it was unexpected. But so was the proposal! I couldn’t have asked for anyone better. He proved to me he could handle me at my worst while also loving me endlessly. All before he even pulled the ring out.
Soon he made the decision to move down to the bayou and now that he is a professional alligator wrestler we can finally share our wedding date with you all.
I hope that our little story can warm some hearts of the people we love. And I hope to share our special day with you all whether in person or by media. We love each and every one of you.
With love
