Q + A

What is the weather like in NOLA in April?

New Orleans is surrounded by water, the humidity might shock you if you are coming in from out of town. Expect low 80s and a decent amount of humidity. We highly suggest wearing something light and breathable. The temperature doesn't really drop when it gets dark.

Is the venue indoors?

The venue is partially indoors, however the ceremony, bar and dance floor are outside.

Is the ceremony in a church?

No, the ceremony will take place in the outdoor courtyard at the Historic BK House.

Are my kids invited?

Sorry, no. We love your kiddos but they are not invited unless given permission by Davis and August.

Are there any colors I should NOT wear?

Yes! Please do not wear white, ivory, cream, or bright red. Bridesmaids will be wearing dark brown. If you'd like to wear light brown that is fine!

Will there be a sit down dinner?

No. We're having a New Orleans style reception with passed hors d'oeuvres and multiple serving stations. There will be seating available inside the museum and high-tops outside. There are no assigned tables/seats. You may decide when and where to eat throughout the reception.

Is transportation provided?

No. Hotel Provincial is across the street from the venue. There are multiple hotels close by that are within walking distance as well. If you choose to stay outside of the French Quarter please be prepared to uber!

What is going on there that weekend??

April 23-26 is the first weekend of Jazz Fest. Hotel rooms, flights, etc. may be more expensive than the weekend before. I'm sorry it worked out this way!! Please keep this in mind and do not wait to book your accommodations!
