Will I need a vehicle reservation for Glacier National Park?
In addition to the entrace pass, many areas of the park - like the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road - require a vehicle reservation during peak season. What is the difference between West Glacier & East Glacier?
When planning for your time in Montana, you may come across information regarding West Glacier and East Glacier. West Glacier is the closest side to the Treetops Glacier in Coram and the easiest to access from Glacier Park International Airport. It is home to the popular Lake McDonald, Avalanche Lake, and the iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road.
East Glacier is approximately 2.5 hours away from West Glacier. East Glacier is just as beautiful but it is less convenient unless you plan to extend your trip. It is amazing for hiking and wildlife, but best suited for those adding on a longer park adventure before or after the wedding.
