It all started with a swipe or as Austin likes to tell people, it all started in the milk aisle at the grocery store ;) But the real story is we “liked” each other on Hinge (an online dating app).

We started texting after we “liked” each other and soon decided it would be a good idea to meet in-person! For our first date we met at a neighborhood bar and grabbed a few drinks. I walked out of that date knowing that I wanted to see him again. Austin on the other hand, walked out of that date thinking I wanted nothing to do with him… let me explain!

At the time I had a dog, and my brother and sister-in-law were watching him for me. I had gotten up to go to the bathroom and I checked my phone – well my brother was ready for me to come pick him up. So, when I went back to our table, I let Austin know that I had to go pick up my dog. Austin took that as it was my excuse out and that I didn’t want to see him again. That obviously wasn’t true, and I let him know later that night how much fun I had and that I would love to see him again! So of course, that’s exactly what we did!

We met up again only a few days later and then met for our third date only a few days after that. I had always heard the expression, when you know, you know & I didn’t know how much I believed it – until we met. We both just knew. Life for both of us became more fun, more adventurous, and ultimately, it just made more sense.

The past four years have been the best of our lives, and we know they are only going to get more fun and filled with even more love and laughter.
