A modern day love story, Austin and Ingrid met through a dating app. Ingrid thought Austin was handsome and that he seemed interesting, but was skeptical of meeting someone from a dating app. She was close to cancelling their first date... But she sure is happy that she listened to her gut and showed up to dinner that Thursday night on December 19th, 2019. The conversation was effortless and the mutual connection was evident. They talked for almost 4 hours, closing the restaurant down. They both wished the night did not have to end, but said their goodbyes with the hope of a second date. Austin and Ingrid both have jobs that require they do shift work and work on holidays. They discovered they were both free on Christmas Eve and unable to be with family, so they planned a second date to make pizza at Ingrid’s apartment. After a long shift at the hospital, Ingrid went home tired and frustrated. Only to find Austin waiting for her in the parking lot with flowers and a bottle of wine in hand, just what Ingrid needed! This sweet and simple gesture meant a lot to Ingrid. It showed her that Austin was not only thoughtful but he was understanding. And even though they burnt the pizza, the date was a success! It did not take long for Austin and Ingrid to introduce one another to their family and friends. This easy intermingling of their lives only made their feelings for one another grow stronger. Austin knew Ingrid was the one when he saw how well she fit into his life with Aspen, his sweet but sassy Siberian Husky. Aspen can be challenging at times but Ingrid took it in stride. Ingrid knew Austin was the one after a dinner with Austin and his best friend, who also happens to be named Austin. His friend had such genuine affirmations to say about Austin and his character that it brought tears to his friend’s eyes. Ingrid knew she was dating someone very special. Whether it is exploring new places, rooting for opposing Big 12 teams, or simply being a shoulder to lean on after a long shift... Austin and Ingrid have found the one who their souls love.

Fun fact: Oregon is one of two states that DOES NOT have self serve gas stations. It may catch you off guard when an attendant walks up to your car and asks what you want and for ‘form of payment’, but it’s perfectly normal! :)
