Austin and Owen met in 2019 in prison. Yes, you read that right they met in prison. They both work for the Colorado Department of Corrections. Austin promoted to a Teacher to Fremont Correctional Facility where Owen had been working the past four years.

Owen recalls seeing Austin for the first time during roll call. As Owen puts it "She walked into roll call and into my life, It was like slow motion as she walked through the door, hair waiving in the wind (even though it was inside), Angelic harps playing from somewhere above, and doves flying up from behind her as I wonder how they got in the building."

When Austin first noticed Owen it was during a shake down. As Austin puts it "He walked up to me and asked 'Are we were good here?' I was new to this facility and did not know what was going on or who Owen was and why was he was asking me if we are good here? Not wanting to look dumb I said yes we are good here and watched Owen shake it as he walked away. I thought he's kind of different (not knowing he was the Emergency Response Team Commander) but he is cute."

Owen eventually asked Austin to get a drink when she turned him down for the drink but said she would go to dinner with him instead. During their first date Owen was so nervous and shy he kept forgetting how to formulate thoughts into words. She thought it was cute how he stumbled over words and did not know she could have that effect on someone. Later that night Owen gave her a hug and Austin made the statement "I feel safe in your arms."

The two fell quickly in love and on July 1st, 2020 Owen purposed to Austin were she obviously said yes or you would not be reading this at this time... Duh.
