Austin and Katie's Wedding

<p>Austin and Katie's love story started early September 2020, with a simple swipe right, a cheesy gif, and a PERFECT MATCH. A week later, they met in person for the first time, Austin went to Katie's for a game night with a group of Katie's classmates (this is where she found out how extremely competitive Austin is). They spent the next day together on their first official date exploring parts of Waco, hiking in Cameron Park, axe throwing, and enjoying Mexican food and margaritas (still an important part of their relationship). About a week later at a pool party Austin shared that he had been telling his co-workers he had a girlfriend, so from then on they were girlfriend and boyfriend. The icing on the cake happened about 3 months later when Zuko (Austin's dog) and Odin (Katie's dog) met for the first time and became inseparable.</p>

How It Began

<p>Austin planned a re-creation of their first date exploring Waco for their 2nd anniversary together. The afternoon began at one of their favorite wineries. The next stop of the day was at Cameron Park Zoo where most of the animals were hiding from the Texas heat. They then went to axe throwing where the competition was on. Then they finally went to Cameron Park for a hike before dinner. As they started the hike, Katie spotted a bunch of Austin's friends on the park bench. He tried to pretend they weren't there, but Katie insisted they go say hello. They left the friends behind and started the supposedly short hike up to a beautiful look out spot. Almost an hour and a half later and never stopping at the "beautiful look out spot," Austin admitted they were a little lost and made the impromptu decision to go back down by the river where he had redirected the photographer to capture the beautiful proposal. Turns out all the friends were coming to celebrate, the guys just happened to be a little early. The night ended at Milo All Day with some of their favorite people celebrating the beautiful love.</p>

Connie and Katie met Fall of 2015 at A&M Corpus Christi where they instantly hit it off during Freshman orientation. When they weren't in class, they spent most of their days hammocking by the ocean or watching Say Yes To The Dress in Katie's dorm.

Ben and Austin met in the fall of 2015 in an art history class at Baylor.  They played two seasons of rugby together and have been close friends ever since.

Benjamin Neukomm

Heather and Katie met during physical therapy school where they really hit it off, and became roommates about 6 months later. Heather took on the important role of "Aunt Heather" to Katie's dog Odin, and still runs his Instagram account to this day.

Derek and Austin were introduced to each other in the fall of 2016 by Ben while playing rugby at Baylor.  Derek remains Austin's go-to man for advice on just about anything.

Olivia and Katie went to school together since Kindergarten, but really hit it off in 4th grade. Together they have survived the middle school and high school drama, switching colleges, and the chaos of becoming an adult. About 16 years later, they can still count on each other!

Olivia Cabler

Austin and Peter met at the end of the summer of 2013. They began playing rugby at Baylor at the same time and have been like brothers ever since.

Lizzie and Katie first met December of 2021 when Austin and Katie made their first trip to California as a couple. Austin had spent lots of time talking about how his sister was his absolute best friend, so naturally Katie was a little nervous to meet her. However, since the first time they met they really hit it off!

The first time Austin met Zac, he was nervous and a little intimidated by him. However, they quickly bonded over sports and teasing Katie.

Kenna and Katie met in the 4th grade when Kenna moved to Wimberley. They spent their middle school and high school years on the volleyball court together making many memories. Almost 16 years later, Kenna is still occasionally surprised by Katie's witty humor.

Austin and Stew met in the fall of 2016 while playing rugby at Baylor.  Austin quickly realized he had become close friends with one of the most genuine and caring Texans he would ever meet.
