Love Story Sweet as a Peach

The chances of Liezl Kurtz and Austin Peach ever meeting were slim to none. Liezl was a farm girl from St. Peters, Missouri. Austin was born and raised in small-town Shawano, Wisconsin. Their connection began through Liezl’s brother-in-law, Max, who currently serves in the U.S. Navy. Max and Austin were stationed together on the USS Carl Vinson in San Diego, California. In January 2023, after Max married Liezl's sister, Hazel, Max returned to the ship and proudly showed his friends the wedding photos. In those photos, Austin noticed the maid of honor, Liezl. Pointing at her, he asked, “Who is that?” Max replied, “That’s my new sister-in-law, Liezl.” Austin grinned and said, “Hey man, hook me up!” Max did just that. For the next six months, Liezl and Austin exchanged messages back and forth, getting to know one another. In June 2023, Liezl decided to take a trip to San Diego, and the pair finally met in person at Imperial Beach. Max and Hazel were there as well. Max introduced them by saying, “Well, Peach, meet your future wife!” From there, Liezl and Austin spent the week exploring Southern California together. By the end of the trip, their chemistry was undeniable. They spent the next year and a half doing long distance until Austin secured a job in St. Louis as a Navy Recruiter. Now, they are looking forward to a bright future together! The photo above is the very first picture taken of the pair!

Our Story

On September 1, 2024, Austin proposed to Liezl at Osaka Castle in Japan.
