On June 1, 2024, we went on our first date to Longhorn Steakhouse. Yes, Autumn ordered chicken tenders at a steakhouse. Autumn immediately knew Jamie was different when he opened the doors for her and said the blessing before they ate their dinner.

Autumn invited Jamie to her church homecoming service the following Sunday, and he drove from Dallas, GA, to Roopville, GA, to attend. He made a great impression on her church family.

In September 2024, Jamie joined the Air Force. Thus began a series of waiting and writing letters to each other. He graduated from Basic Training at the end of October 2024. He then moved on to his secondary level of training. He and Autumn were then able to start texting and Factiming again.

On April 2nd, 2025, Jamie asked Autumn to be his girlfriend. She had planned to visit him in Little Rock in May, but unfortunately, her plans changed. They continued to have a long-distance relationship until finally Jamie was able to come home in September.

After going back to his duty station, Jamie went out and bought a ring. He told practically everyone- including Autumn. However, he would not show Autumn a picture of the ring- no matter how many times she asked.

Being the 'low man on the totem pole,' Jamie had to take leave the first week in December if he wanted to make it home for the holidays. On his first night home, Autumn and Jamie exchanged presents with her family. Unknowingly to Autumn, her sister had a present for her too. She opened the present, which was a box that said 'Will you marry me?" As she was reading, Jamie got on his knee and pulled the ring. She said yes.
