While we live in a destination location for many couples, this is not a destination wedding. We both have lived here for many years and so for us this is just our home. While we wish we could afford to pay for our guests to fly here and cover accommodations while they are here, that simply isn’t possible for us. We truly appreciate anyone that is able to travel and stay here to celebrate with us and experience the beauty that Maui has to offer! Please know that your presence is present enough and there is no expectations of further gifts other than you being here with us.
We also completely understand that isn’t possible for everyone. For those friends and family who are unable to make it, we both love you so much. We will be sharing photos and hope to see you in the near future!
Where can we stay and do we need a car?
In the section on the website titled “Travel Info” we have attached links and listed our recommendations for your accommodations while you are here. Depending on your preference and who you are traveling with we both highly recommend getting airbnbs with others and sharing a rental car with those people to make your trip more affordable. Maui has a good bus system but depending on where you are staying it might not be helpful, also Ubers can get very expensive if being used everyday, so rental cars are definitely recommended if you want to do some exploring and adventuring while you’re here.
Will we see you guys when we land?
We hope so! Both of us would love to welcome all friends and family with love and aloha upon landing. Please contact and coordinate with us as soon as you make your travel plans! Either at the airport or in Lahaina we would love to get food and make your first few hours in Maui memorable.
Is the wedding and reception outdoors?
Yes! Both the ceremony at sea and the reception will be outdoors. Although they will be later in the day we recommend dressing comfortably and wearing sunscreen if needed. Please opt for reef-safe sunscreen if you’re planning to go in the ocean! Weather tends to be hot and slightly humid during the Maui summers so please make sure to check weather reports a week or two before traveling and making adventure plans. Temperatures can range from 70s-90s.
Will there be parking for the wedding and reception?
Parking will be difficult for the ceremony at sea. Depending on the day parking at Lahaina Harbor may be difficult. We recommend getting there 15-20mins early to look for a spot or just getting an uber to avoid the hassle!
Parking for the reception will be a breeze. The Lahaina Jodo Mission has its own parking and is right next to the beach where there are even more places to park. Carpooling is always a good idea though!
Is this a dry wedding and reception?
While we are both sober and will not be drinking, we understand other people do drink and we respect that! On the boat there will an option for alcoholic beverages and as its part of the package we recommend people drink if they want! At the reception we will not be providing alcohol but welcome our guests to bring their own. BYOB to party!
If you do plan on partying and having a really fun time, please Uber or Lyft as your ride there and back. We love you and want your experience to be happy as well as safe!
