Her Point of View

From the time I saw Conner at Real People Camp I steadily grew more smitten. My family started going to his church soon after that week and I just couldn't get the cute guy who was good with kids and read his bible out of my head. He didn't seem to notice me at all and although I tried to play it cool, I probably sent way too many smiles his way.

One morning at church I decided to talk to him about an evangelism club he had started. As soon as I walked up to him he looked like a deer in the headlights. After a few awkward questions with only jumbled responses, I quickly exited the conversation. After that I made sure not to go up to him again.

Months later, I still really liked him while trying to tell myself that I didn't. Then the formal at our school came along. I was more than shocked when he offered to escort me to the car and talked to me a good amount of the night. Things seemed to go back to normal until Summer rolled around.

We were back at RPC and Conner began to talk to me more and more. Little did I know he and my dad had just had a conversation. About a month later, after several game nights with other friends from church and a very significant situation involving a gravel pit, My dad revealed that Conner wanted to start courting me. I was caught off guard but completely thrilled.

The more I got to know him, the more I liked him. It didn't take long for me to decide he was the one I wanted to marry. Here was a man who led me closer to the Lord and had a vision for the family we would build together. So, when he got down on one knee, I didn't have to think for a second about what my answer would be. I'm so thankful for Conner, and the way that God providentially brought us together!

His Point of View

It took me some time to really start liking Ava. I mean of course she was cute, but my mindset at the time was not oriented towards girls in any way. I mean cooties, right? We still were in the same circle and saw each other quite frequently.

Yet, one fateful day at youth group we ended up on the same team, in the same row of chairs sitting right next to each other, and I just fell for her there. It just kind of happened. God-ordained is the best way I could describe it. So, after some conversations with my parents and some goals for that summer, I talked to her dad about the situation.

That summer I began to talk to her more. Then one day while fishing with her brother and a few of our friends, Ava was going to pick him up. She was late to the spot, so I called her and she told me she was stuck in a gravel pit. Which was great for me!

I pulled her out, and headed home. It was perfect.

Exactly a week later, I had talked to her dad about courting her, and He brought the proposal to Ava and luckily she said yes.

It really didn't take long for me to realize this was the one that I wanted to marry. I enjoy every minute I am with her. She loves God, and loves her people; there is no one I'd rather be with. So, I asked her, and now here we are.
