Our story begins in the intense August heat of Milledgeville, GA circa 2017. We had just begun our Freshman year at Georgia College (go bobcats) and shared an art class together.


Ava: My first impression of Tucker was him giving a presentation one of our first weeks of class, and Tucker was angry. Why you ask? Because in our lecture hall of approximately 80 freshman, no one was listening to his presentation </3. So Tucker as he moved through the slides started to make condescending comments like not like anyone is listening... or if anyone really cared to know.... and I thought..... get a grip buddy! That week we had the Young Life College Life cookout where Derek Hay introduced us! He said Ava youre from Dawsonville? Do you know Tucker Davis? He went to North Forsyth! And I said I dont know him from home but I know him from art class where he was super condescending. (Like.... chill freshman Ava. Rude.) But alas once I spoke to Tucker I realized that I am indeed the worst and he was then and still is the kindest and most genuine person I have ever known. Nice one Ava!


Tucker: I remember Ava having a big green backpack. It made me think that she looked like a turtle. Turns out, she is nothing like a turtle. I actually had no idea she thought I was so condescending until after we started dating. Way to go bro... Anyways, after we started spending time together outside of class with friends and in social settings, I was like dang, Avas pretty swag.


As college went on, we continued to be great friends and cherished each others friendships. Senior year of college we spent nearly every day together either doing ministry or hanging out with friends. When we said goodbye at the end of senior year, sending one off to Pioneer Plunge and the other off to 4UR Ranch in Colorado, we cried. Maybe too much for being just friends..........


When we both returned we continued our friendship. We eventually ended up both living in Forsyth county and things.... changed........


Tucker: After we spent more time together, she started to make me feel differently. I realized I liked her in a way that I hadnt before. I ~like liked~ her. I wanted to spend more time together, and any time we were together, I didnt want to end. She was pulling on my heart strings! Going to the store, getting dinner, watching movies or tv, going to concerts (when I said I wanted to go to a John Mayer concert WITH HER, she told me I should ask someone else....???). I just wanted to always be with her. The day I knew I was in love with her, was when she talked about what she wanted her wedding to look like. That night, as I laid in bed, thinking about her marrying someone other than me made me CRY. So yeah, I ~like liked~ Ava.


Ava: One day, Tucker came to help me move some furniture and we frolicked in a field of dandelions and it was truly one of the sweetest and most wholesome days of my life. This day many have come to know as dandelion day and after that was when I finally admitted to myself that I had feelings for Tucker- and I cried and cried. I was so fearful of losing someone that was so important to me and I eventually had no idea how to act around him. But Katie McKee came to the rescue and told me that she and Tucker got dinner and he told her (in so many words) that he had a crush on me! So Katie said Ava get a grip and talk to him! Tucker and I hung out soon after this fateful conversation and I said hey so.... whats going on.... and he said what do you mean? and I said ....you know what I mean. Later that week we went on our first date.


Two years and some change later we are engaged and are quite literally counting down the days until we are married and celebrating with our favorite people on the planet!
