Averi and Jonathan met in 2020 during their senior year at Harrison High School. This story is told by Averi :)

I had a crush on Jonathan senior year and my friends would tease me about it. As prom rolled around our senior year, my friend decided to steal my phone and ask Jonathan to prom over Snapchat as a joke. Jonathan ended up saying NO because he thought it was random since we didn't know each other. My friends thought it was hilarious!

After Jonathan politely declined my *fake* invitation to prom, we started a Snapchat streak. Aww so romantic! For those of you who don’t know what that is, we sent at least one picture back and forth every day. Once COVID hit and everyone was at home, we had lots of time on our hands. We started to get to know each other little by little every day.

We decided to go on a date to Kennesaw Mountain and we have been best friends ever since! Two months into our relationship we parted ways- I went to Virginia Tech and Jonathan went to Covenant College. We both played sports and met amazing people and neither of us would trade these experiences for the world! Half of our bridesmaids and groomsmen are from our colleges.

While long distance is hard and we missed each other more than you can imagine, our love and support of each other grew exponentially as time went on. Having been on our college journeys in different states showed us how special our connection truly is.

God is so good through every high and low we have encountered in life. We depend on Him to give us strength and guidance in this next chapter… now let’s get married!!!!!
