Joel and I met while we were still BABIES in middle school. I was a new student at Cabrini.

We had a tight group of friends and we stayed friends all throughout high school.

In the beginning of our senior year, we were chosen for homecoming court. We decided to partner up, which meant we were spending a lot of time together.

Eventually in the middle of our senior year, things fell into place and we ended up telling each other how we felt.

We were able to go to prom, spring break, and graduate together!

We spent everyday and moment of summer together until it was time for Joel to leave.

Joel enlisted in the Marines meaning he would attend boot camp for 3 months with written letters as his only contact.

Luckily mine and Joel’s family were so supportive and helpful throughout the entire 3 months. I couldn’t have done it without them.

Only being able to write each other was challenging, but we wrote every chance we got.

When Joel finally graduated from boot camp, I was so excited to see him and so proud! That hug is an indescribable feeling!

However all good things come to end. 10 days after graduating bootcamp, Joel had to report back to North Carolina.

Joel was in North Carolina doing a bunch of cool Marine stuff, and I was back home working and going to college. I would visit during any free time we had though! We were able to spend Christmas together too!

While visiting Joel one weekend in North Carolina, he proposed!

Since then, I have moved to NC, am continuing college here and we have finally ended long distance. Which leads us to now, planning a wedding from 12 hours away!

We also thought it would be fitting to add a post for Gunner, our new pup!
