Meg & I have been best friends since the sixth grade. We’ve done everything together — from being high school cheer co-captains & competing on Spirit of Texas A-Team, to church camp, to ACT prep & driver’s ed classes, to visiting each other’s college towns for birthdays — she’s been by my side through it all. To know Meg is to love her, and there is no one else I’d rather have standing by my side as I marry the love of my life.

Remi and I have best friends since 1st grade. Very similar to today, it was high energy all the time with us — playing air-soft as much as we could and riding our bikes to the neighborhood McDonalds. If you know me, you know I love to work on projects. Though the vision might not have always been clear, Remi always believed in me and was the first one to give me a hand anytime. No matter how far apart we live, Remi is always there to support me, and I’m happy to have him be my best man on my wedding day.

We are so excited to welcome you to our new home, Memphis, TN! So many of you will be traveling, and we are so thankful you've considered taking the time and effort we know this requires. To help make planning easier for you, we've put together some travel tips from the cities most of our guests will be traveling from. We've also listed all of the hotels we have blocks and/or discounts with. Once you plan your travel, take a look at the Things to Do section of the website for some of our favorite spots and some tourist attractions to fill your time here with. We can't wait to show you around!

Welcome to The South’s Grand Hotel! This is one of the most historic and beautiful hotels in the south. Known for the daily duck march, rooftop overlooking the city and river, beautiful lobby with a top notch bar, and amazing service, this hotel is our favorite in Memphis. This hotel is the closest to The Cadre where our reception will be held. This one will also likely be the first to book up, so if youd like to stay here, we recommend booking as soon as possible. The double and queen room rate is $260/night, not including taxes and fees -- full transparency, they charge about 25% of that rate per night in taxes and fees. If youre interested in staying on the Club level, which includes breakfast with an omelette station, snacks and non alcoholic beverages available all day, and appetizers &amp; a full bar during cocktail hour (5-7 PM) at no additional fee, we have a discounted rate available also. The Club King room rate is $370, and the Club Executive King room (slightly larger) rate is $390, not including taxes and fees. ***We have an unlimited amount of rooms here, but booking will close once the hotel reaches 80% occupancy.***

Travel

Watch the World Famous Peabody Duck March! Every day at 11 AM, the five mallards make their way from their rooftop suite, down the elevator, across the red carpet, and into the fountain in the center of the hotel lobby. Every day at 5 PM, they make their way back up for the night! Grab a seat and a cocktail at the bar and prepare for a show. For best viewing, we recommend getting your spot in the lobby at least an hour before the duck march, or watching from the mezzanine about 15 minutes in advance.

If you love whiskey and bourbon, stop at the distillery for a sample flight, Peanut Butter Mane old fashioned, or Honeybell Slushie. Don’t worry — if whiskey isn’t your thing, there is a full bar.

Old Dominick Distillery

One of Avery’s instructors recommended this restaurant on a Thursday. By that Saturday, the two of us had already been twice. In the heart of Midtown, enjoy some good old fashioned bar food, live music on Fridays &amp; Saturdays, sandwiches, pool, TV, drinks, and fun.

Byway- Hands down best coffee in Memphis!- Served out of an Airstream- Check @bywaycoffeeco on Instagram for their location and hours, as both change every day!- Avery likes the iced blackberry lavender latte and strawberry matcha Hive (Downtown) - Best bagels and pastries! Breweries

Possibly the most iconic barbecue restaurant in Memphis. The pulled pork, smoked wings, house made potato chips, and spicy barbecue sauce are worth how full you’ll be for the rest of the day.

Central BBQ - Downtown

Easily the best breakfast joint in Memphis. Their pancakes and biscuits explain the line you’ll wait in. Sunrise is owned by the same people as Central BBQ, which explains how similar their layout is and how amazing the food at both restaurants is. Best to avoid Sunday late mornings &amp; the after-church rush.

Sunrise Memphis (Downtown)

If you're looking for a nice dinner, this is the restaurant we recommend. Their unique menu includes flights of entrees, sides, appetizers, desserts, and wine pairings -- perfect for those of us who like to try one of everything! If that sounds like too much, you can also order a single serving of anything on the menu.

This is the restaurant we went to for our three year anniversary dinner. The rigatoni and casarecce are delicious!

Catherine & Mary's

If you plan on venturing out to East Memphis, this restaurant is worth a reservation! As seen on the 2025 Michelin Guide, their margherita pizza and loaded tater tots are amazing, and their service is even better.

Hog & Hominy

We’ve been known to eat this pizza multiple times in a week. Memphis may be known for barbecue, but this pizza will give any ribs a run for their money.

BB King’s is one of our long time favorite spots in Memphis. While some may see it as somewhat of a tourist trap, it is truly the best snapshot of Memphis you’ll be able to find in one place. Listen to some of the greatest blues bands &amp; singers in town, eat some of our favorite ribs in the city, and enjoy being in the heart of Beale Street. Forewarning, it is very loud and there is a cover fee at the door to support the live music.

B.B. King's Blues Club

The eighth wonder of the world! Just kidding, but it is the largest pyramid-shaped commercial space in the world, if that means anything to you. The Bass Pro Pyramid is home to a hotel, an aquarium, a restaurant, and of course, a Bass Pro Shops. There's an elevator inside that will take you up to the top of the pyramid for the best view of Memphis (for a small fee). Fun fact about the pyramid, it was actually built as an arena, and Prince once played a concert there! However, the acoustics were so terrible that it's rumored that you can still hear his guitar at the top of the pyramid. After going unused and vacant for over a year, Bass Pro Shops owner, Johnny Morris,&nbsp;made a bet that if he and his friends caught a 30-pound catfish near the pyramid, he would put a Bass Pro Shops store inside.&nbsp;The rest is history.

If you’re a music lover, Sun Studios is the place for you. Nicknamed “the Birthplace of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” the recording studio is known for launching the careers of music legends like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B.&nbsp;King, and Roy Orbison.&nbsp;Take a tour and see where the magic happened.

For the full Memphis experience, make sure you spend some time on Beale Street, the Home of the Blues. Pop into any bar, including some of our favorites like Tin Roof, Rum Boogie, and Silky O’Sullivan’s, and listen to some live music, or just take a stroll and window shop while you watch the Beale Street Flippers flip over absurdly large groups of people.

Take a walk along the Mississippi River on the Mud Island Greenbelt, and maybe stop into Tug’s or Terrace for a drink or a bite to eat accompanied by a riverfront view.

If there’s a show at the Orpheum, you have time to make it, and you can get the tickets — GO! Avery and her friends saw Hamilton here during their first year of optometry school, and it was one of her favorite memories of that year. The theatre is jaw droppingly-beautiful, and the cast is always so talented. If you want to make a whole night of it, make a dinner reservation for before at the Majestic Grille just a block over for one of their show-themed dinners.

Crosstown Concourse, formerly Sears Tower, is home to its own miniature city. There are restaurants, a church, a school, apartments, coffee shops, bars, and even one of Southern College of Optometry’s offices all inside of one tower.
