While working at the local gym one night, Avery told a “Dad joke” over the PA to remind people to pack up and get out (she was very tired!). Kyle overheard this and asked if ~he~ could tell a joke if he thought of a good one. Thinking that he was quite possibly the cutest guy she’d ever seen, Avery said yes. This turned into a running joke between them for the following weeks alongside nervous flirting. Kyle made the move by giving Avery a book of “Dad jokes” with his name and number on the inside cover. The rest is history.
