The last mile of the drive is down an UNMAINTAINED FIRE road and therefore I recommend not driving vehicles with low clearance. 2wd will work HOWEVER you will need to take it SLOW and have enough clearance to dodge rocks...

To find directions on your phone or GPS, enter 'Boards Crossing' and you should find yourself looking at a small bridge over the Stanislaus River. The Nicol Cabins are directly South West of this bridge. Be sure to follow our signs, as if you follow google maps it will take you down an old fire road that is not 2wd recommended.

Notes on the drive;

When leaving Hwy 4 you will turn onto Board's Crossing rd. You're going to follow this road through some residential area for about 5 miles until you come to a bridge at 'Sourgrass rec. area'. 1 mile later you will see our first sign to drop down onto an unmaintained road. 1 more mile and you're there.

BEWARE: Reception is SPOTTY at best as you get close so be sure to look at the end-of-the-line directions before going to deep into the woods :-)
