All of our wedding events will be held at Hilton Cabo Azul located in San José del Cabo. We love how safe this area feels and the shopping strip across the street from Cabo Azul offers fun restaurant options and shopping, such as Tommy Bahama. San José del Cabo is roughly a 30 minute car ride away from Cabo San Lucas. We suggest for longer drives, such as this, to book a trusted car service or drive yourself, and to not use Uber for long drives. We personally feel safe taking an Uber a short, 5 minute, drive to dinner or the local grocery, but have been warned by locals not to take them very far since it is rumored they are run by the cartel. Other than this rumor, we feel very safe when traveling in los Cabos and love to leave the resort for dinners and exploring. If you find yourself wanting to explore los Cabos, then below you can find some of our favorite places and recommendations we have heard are most beloved!
Flora Farms is a 25-acre organic working farm. The farm to table food at Flora's Field Kitchen is amazing and there are lots of yummy options to share. The farm also encompasses the Shoppes at Flora Farms, the Farm Spa, the Farm Bar, Flora Farms Grocery, Culinary Cottages, and the Haylofts.
TIPS: Reservations can book up quickly!! Try to book your reservation a few weeks out. Also, keep an eye out for celebrities dining here!
Chambao los Cabos offers a unique, yet exciting steak and seafood experience. We went on a weekday night and had no problem getting a last minute reservation. The food was delicious and the entertainment was so fun! We highly recommend checking it out and it's just a short 5 minute Uber from Cabo Azul.
TIPS: Make a reservation beforehand. We recommend splitting plates, since they are very large portions. As a family of four we ordered one steak, one pasta dish, and one side (sides come just about family style size), and we left very full. Also, Chambao is a sister restaurant to Rosa Negra, so you can expect to experience different entertainment and food options, but similar amazing service.
We highly recommend signing up for a sunset horseback riding tour on the beaches of Los Cabos. This is Jeffrey's favorite activity in Cabo (besides snorkeling).
TIPS: We did not book this through the resort, but rather scouted out a cowboy on the beaches that brought his horses by every evening for horseback riding tours. Make sure you go the day before to check on the availability of your desired timing & bring enough cash for each person riding. If this is something you are interested in, we also recommend bringing enough cash from the states so you are not charged an international atm fee.
We have never personally eaten at Acre, but everyone we meet say it's a must try! Acre is a vibrant farm-to-table culinary experience that is both refined and relaxed. Acre has been awarded the 2024 Michelin Sustainability award and TripAdvisor's 2023 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best.
TIPS: Make a reservation beforehand, but beware if you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice they will charge you $50 USD per person of your party. Also, Acre is located in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna mountains, so if you begin to notice the paved road disappear and become a dirt road during your drive there, then you are headed the right direction - you are not being kidnapped or lost.
Not only is this restaurant known for the best views in Cabo San Lucas, but they are also known for their fine dining culinary experience.
TIPS: If you do not wish for the fine dining experience, but would love to get some beautiful pictures with this view then skip dinner and request the hostess to escort your party to the bar (this is the option we opted for). Also, they do have an in-restaurant professional photographer to take your pictures, however, these photos do come at a price of roughly $75.
For a fun, wild, and more authentic Mexican dining experience check out the Office! The dinner here is served family style, and a great casual option for large parties. Check out their website to see the events of the week! We love the wild Thursday night Fiesta Mexicana! It was the perfect way to celebrate my dad's birthday in Cabo!
TIPS: Make a reservation in advance. This is a great option to eat at after cocktails at Sunset Monalisa (they are a short drive apart). Watch out for the vendors on the beach, unless you're looking to purchase a silly headwrap or nacho libre mask.
We have never personally eaten at Rosa Negra, but everyone we meet says it is a must try! Rosa Negra restaurant serves latin food with entertainment shows, fireworks, DJ, and has "the best atmosphere in Cabo San Lucas!"
TIPS: I recommend looking at their website or videos on their social pages, before making a reservation.
