Evan: This is one of the first photos we have together! Avery invited me over to her parents' house (as a friend!) to hang out and play Mario Kart. This is also the day I met my four-legged best friend: Smudge the Pug. Little did we know that in less than a month, Avery and I would be dating.

Avery: The Fall Fair was our first real date as a couple. We had an absolute blast running from ride to ride and playing the carnival games. This photo always puts a smile on my face.

Avery: On the night that Evan asked me to be his girlfriend, we had spent the evening watching a movie in Chinguacousy Park. Since that night, the park became a special place for us, and we loved going out to events in the park. Canada Day was always my favorite, and this was our first Canada Day as a couple!

Evan: For me, high school was a music-filled time. I was a member of several groups throughout my time at Aquinas and performed regularly. From Symphonic Band to The Barcodes, my very favourite musical memory is still this one - when I wrote a Beatles Medley that Avery and I performed together at "Koffee Haus".

Evan: This is one of my favourite photos. This was a shot from the incredible graduation party that the Wilsons hosted for us. It was one of the rare times that we got to bring all of our loved ones together to eat, drink, and celebrate.

Avery: In the fall, we became Golden Hawks! I have so many incredible memories from first year, and I got to experience all of these firsts with Evan by my side! This is one of the best photos from the first term of university - smiling ear to ear at our first drag show!

Avery: This sunny shot is from a family camping trip up North with the Istvandis! The lockdowns had put a damper on many plans for the summer, but this trip was a relief from gloomy isolation. As always, Evan served as the fire-side entertainment and kept the campfire tunes going all night long.

Evan: Since Avery and I both worked in residence on campus during the pandemic, school policies prevented us from being able to visit each other’s dorms. We had to get creative when we wanted to see each other. We would take long walks through Uptown Waterloo, stopping for a selfie every now and then, chatting about our future together.

Avery: I have so many amazing memories from our first apartment. Because we were so close to campus, our home ended up being the landing pad for many of our friend groups. This selfie was taken after one of our many LMC parties.

Evan: When we started our third year at Laurier, we got our first apartment together. We focused on making the space feel like a home which led to countless opportunities to host our friends for dinner parties and get togethers.

Avery: For Christmas, I bought Evan tickets to see the Habs play in Ottawa. It was our first solo trip as a couple! We had an amazing road trip and watched an exciting game. As political nerds, the highlights of our trip come from a long walk on Parliament Hill, taking pictures with the Supreme Court and PMO building as we walked by.

Evan: Avery and I love to go to concerts together. This shot captures our colourful outfits for the Elton John show at the Rogers Centre. We were Crocodile Rocking all night long!

Evan: To celebrate our graduation, we jumped on a cruise with Meredith and Derek! Our trip to Bermuda was a relaxing finale to four years of craziness. We bonded with an entertainer at the brewery on board, and spent many evenings dancing and singing to classic pub tunes.

Avery: Throughout all of university, Evan and I stood by each other’s side as we completed our undergraduate degrees. When graduation finally arrived, Evan was off to be an OLIP intern in the fall, and I had gotten into my dream law school. I will always remember how excited I was for our future together as we took this photo.

Avery: Evan and I have been living in Toronto for over a year now, and we absolutely love it. We have a season’s pass to the aquarium (which is a 5 minute walk from our apartment) and try to go as much as possible. We both love being in the middle of all the action, and will never turn down a Happy Hour!

Evan: I managed to pull off a super surprise proposal, with special thanks to Meredith and Derek for helping with the logistics for many weeks, haha. I will never forget Avery's face when I got down on one knee. I don't think I've ever been more excited for anything in my life.
