This story starts in cozy city of Dayton, known affectionately by Mark as the "Dirty D". Mark met Avni online on a dating app 4 months before he was given orders by the Air Force to go to Maryland. To his great surprise, Avni acquiesced to committing to a long-distance relationship. After two years of long-distance FaceTime calls, Mark decided to leave the Air Force and move to Cincinnati to start the next chapter of their lives. Mark is supporting Avni through her grueling hours in residency, and Avni supported Mark through his MBA program and is supporting him in his new career in commercial real estate. Mark has learned that Avni likes dark chocolate and lactose-free coffee ice cream. She also falls asleep in less than a minute when they are watching TV together. Avni has learned that Mark survives on copious amounts of head scratches. Mark knows that there’s nothing they can’t handle together.
