Matt and Ayla grew up together in the same schools from elementary school through highschool and only became friends in their senior year. That's when they started to spend most of the time after school and on weekends together.

Matthew and Ayla started dating in November of 2015 and that was just the beginning of their journey. They went to senior prom and graduated together. After high school was over, they worked a lot but still saw each other almost every day. After some time, they decided to get an apartment together and signed their first lease in 2017.

In August of 2018, Matt took Ayla to go on a camping trip in Lubec, Maine. Little did she know, he had spent quite some time researching a place to go, (where he could propose!) He found out that Lubec, Maine was the most eastern point of the country and that during certain times of the year, it sees the first sunrise out the whole continental U.S. He decided that he would wake her for the sunrise and bring her to the most eastern light house and ask her to marry him.

Ayla ended up being sick for 90% of the camping trip and when Matt tried to take her up a hill to see the light house during the sun rise, she ended up getting sick. He was also trying to beat the incoming rain, so he knew he had to move fast.

Without skipping a beat, Matt held her in his arms and kissed her passionately. All of a sudden, he was dropping to one knee and telling Ayla how much he loved her. He didn't let her being sick deter him from this moment that they would never forget. He asked her to marry him and she cried and said yes!

They have been together ever since, growing and supporting each other. They bought their first house in 2019 at the age of 21 and had a beautiful baby girl, Luna Mae, in August of 2023. They also have two fur babies, a black house cat, Pumpkin and an American Staffordshire Terrier, Soloman.
