Back in 2012, two middle school percussionists found themselves in the W.R. Thomas band room, where a little spark of innocent young love began. We “dated” for just one week—holding hands in the hallways, sharing a sweet kiss (Hector’s very first), and then went back to being friends. Life took us in different directions during high school, but our paths would cross again years later. Even then, we carried a little memory of that first connection, tucked away until the right time.
