Bailey and Jacob started an annual weekend camping and hiking trip to Bar Harbor, Maine 3 years ago. This past summer, they went up late Friday night to sleep in the parking lot of their favorite spot, Bar Harbor Campground, to claim site Q-3 early Saturday morning. Bailey and Jacob did just that, and continued Saturday hiking around Acadia National Park. They ended the day hiking Little Long Pond at Mount Desert. Once they hiked a few miles, they came out to the pond at the top of a hill, where nobody else was around. That is where Jacob got down on one knee and popped the question. Of course Bailey said yes, and was relieved Jacob did not pass out based on the way he looked moments before. Soon enough the next hikers came by, having no idea about the amazing moment that just occurred, and asked Jacob in panic, what they should do if they left bacon grease in their oven that was on while they were hiking. Jacob proceeded to calm the couple down, but advised they get home immediately, and the two carried along.

Bailey and Jacob spent the rest of their big weekend sailing around the island, eating good food, and enjoying the thousands of blueberry bushes surrounding their campsite. The weekend is an unforgettable moment for the couple, and they are still trying to figure out how Bailey never saw it coming, especially since the two were living out of the same car 24 hours prior. Jacob claims it was not easy to hide the ring, because Bailey kept rustling through his things trying to find a hairbrush every other hour.
