On September 30, 2022 I received a direct message on Instagram from Colton asking if I'd like to grab coffee sometime. Although we didn't know each other at the time, we had several mutual followers, and Colton had come across my account. Some might call this a coincidence, but I am confident that the Lord brought us together in His perfect timing.
I was with my sister when I opened the message, and she encouraged me to meet him (shoutout to Abby). We met on October 10, 2022 at one of my staple study spots in undergrad - Just Love Coffee in Murfreesboro. Our conversation flowed well and we were the last people there; I didn't realize they were closing until a worker started stacking chairs. We barely touched our coffee that evening, but little did I know there would be a lifetime of coffee dates ahead of us!
We met on a Monday and that Friday night we went on our second date to dinner, Go USA for mini golf, and ended the night at Sweet Cece's. I noticed his character early on and it was evident that he loved Jesus - the most important quality! We spent a lot of time talking about our faith and the way God had moved in our lives. The Lord is always teaching us something and molding us into who we are called to be. Even through hard seasons of life, He uses those trials to refine us and strengthen our walk with Him.
Since then, we have created a lot of memories together! I moved to Knoxville in August 2023 to pursue my Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology (go vols)! I will be graduating this year and am so excited to be moving back home to start our married life together. Colton has been working towards becoming a licensed clinical social worker. He has a passion for serving others and this role fits him well!
I pray that our marriage is God honoring and kingdom building! Our story is proof of His provision and goodness. Thank you to our friends and family for all the love and support! We are so grateful for each of you and the way you pour into us.
Ephesians 3:20 "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us."
With love,
Bailey
