Guadalajara holds a special place in our hearts, and we are so thankful to share this beautiful city with our closest family and friends. Below are some recommendations for you to explore.
‣Explore Punto Sur: The area is filled with restaurants and shops, so come ready to explore the area right outside the hotel.
‣Eat: Guadalajara is home to some of the most delicious food in the world. We recommend tortas ahogadas for a Jalisco classic.
‣Take an outing to one of the nearby "Pueblos Magicos" (Magical Towns). We recommend Tequila and Tlaquepaque.
Tlaquepaque is a small town filled with artisan shops and restaurants. Bailey and Daniel visited the area on Bailey's first trip to Guadalajara, and she fell in love with its beauty. Take a trip to the center for local shops and restaurants galore. (Make sure to stop by LeoeHijos Jimenez shop and say hi to my uncle Leo.)
"Tequila" is known around the world as the iconic spirit made from agave. It’s also the name of a town in Jalisco, the very heart of the tequila-producing region. Guests can arrange tours via train or bus to view and taste the pride of Jalisco. It's approximately 40 minutes outside of the city, but it's truly a magical town to walk around and explore.
This spot truly has it all—live music, delicious food, and the famous Cantaritos, big enough to rival a small bathtub! It's the perfect place to relax with friends between Guadalajara and the town of Tequila, while enjoying some top-notch tequila.
If you are looking for a great place to eat while exploring centro, this should be on your list! It overlooks downtown and has one of the best views!
The unmissable icon of downtown Guadalajara. The construction of this church began in 1561 and was ordered by King Felipe II of Spain; it’s still the most representative symbol of Catholicism in Guadalajara.
