Where is the Wedding?

Las Terrenas, Samana, Dominican Republic at "Villa Angela", on the "Playa Portillo".

Where should I stay?

Brian and Bailey recommend their guests stay in an AirBnb or resort near the Playa Portillo area. (A list of the best in the area will be generated) The Villa Angela is near the Balcones del Atlantico Residences & the Bahia Principe El Portillo. THE COUPLE RECOMMENDS STAYING IN THE BAHIA PRINCIPE EL PORTILLO OR THE BALCONES DEL ATLÁNTICO!! These residences are in a close proximity to the wedding villa, both are known as “resorts” with restaurants, bars, and gyms. Balcones del Atlántico is a 3 minute drive to the wedding villa, it is not all inclusive, though chefs are available for the residences, & there are many restaurants and bars on site. This is the less expensive option, which can fit more people, as they are villas and townhomes. Bahia Principe Portillo is located 1 minute from the villa, it is a bit more expensive than the other option, though it is All inclusive. HOWEVER, this resort is a short beach walk to the wedding villa. It’s beach can be seen from the villa. Which may come in handy for other events. If you chose to rent an Airbnb, the El Portillo Residences is the closest to the wedding villa!

What airport should I fly into?

We recommend people fly into SDQ. Santo Domingo(SDQ) is the closest airport to Samana, at 1.5 hours away. Santiago is an hour further than Santo Domingo, though still an easy drive, so it is whatever works for you. The recommended flights are listed below: STI (Santiago): United flight #2452 leaving out of EWR (Newark) at 9:10AM the 22nd of May, returning flight #665 leaving at 4:18PM on the 26th of May. SDQ (Santo Domingo): United Flight #1984 leaving out of EWR (Newark) at 8:04AM on the 22nd of May, returning flight #1473 leaving at 3:10PM on the 26th of May. These flights are only a suggestion. As of August these flights are ~$600, if these flights get to be unrealistic in the future, it would be ideal to find another flight arriving early on Thursday (so you can enjoy welcome drinks with the couple) & a returning flight mid to late afternoon on Monday to factor in the drive to the airport!

How do I get from the Airport to Samana?

Brian and Bailey suggest airport transfers to the Samana area. Transfers are cheaper when more people are included, so we suggest coordinating with those on your flight. Transfers could be as little as $42 per person with 12 people included.

Will there be other events I should pack for?

Yes! Bailey and Brian are planning to have welcome drinks with everyone the first night. They planned an excursion for the day before the wedding, an after party to the wedding, and a beach BBQ the day after the wedding. The unofficial schedule below: Thursday night: Welcome drinks Friday day: Excursion Saturday late afternoon: Wedding Ceremony & Cocktail Hour Saturday night: Wedding Reception & After Party Sunday afternoon: Beach BBQ Monday morning: Travel day

What is the attire for the wedding?

The wedding is a formal event. Though the couple realizes it is hot in the DR. Men are NOT expected to wear jackets. Women should wear a chunky heel, as we will be on sand and/or grass for a good portion of the night. “Beachy glam” is the style for the weekend. The couple encourages different textures, floral prints, and beachy style flow. Please refrain from wearing all white for the weekend:)

What is the Wedding Theme/Color?

The wedding colors for the bridal party are Sage & Sand. These colors are not reserved and guests can wear whichever color of the rainbow they would like too. (Except white)

Is there a registry?

Your presence at our wedding is present enough! However, for the friends & family of the couple, who have expressed an interest, they've created a HoneyFund, to donate to them enjoying their honeymoon. https://www.honeyfund.com/site/lecour-gonzalez-05-24-2025

Are Children Welcome?

As much as we love your little ones, this will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this advance notice means you’re able to let your hair down and celebrate with us on the day!

Is there a Wedding HashTag?

#GoodToBeGonzalez , please use this tag when uploading all pictures/videos!

Things to do in the area?

Samana peninsula is naturally beautiful. The Salto de limon hike is amazing. There are several jaw dropping beaches, and adventurous excursions, whale watching, zip lining, and so much more!

Can I bring a plus one?

Due to venue constraints and the fact that the bride and groom would like to have a rather intimate wedding, plus ones will not be extended. The names of the invitees have been addressed directly on the invitations and RSVP.
